Could always be worse, we could’ve traded a 26 year old top 5 player in the league generational level offensive player for an over the hill star who is now going to be traded meaning we essentially traded said 26 year old superstar for nothing

I knew this was coming. This is why iv been on the trade for AD campaign since he was a Laker. But the Rozier situation is a real problem

Realistically, what are you trading to get him? Assuming we can use Terrys salary. His age and injury history doesn’t scare you with his contract? I mean the Bam/AD pairing would be the best big pairing in the league by a longshot but is that enough to put us over the top and is it all worth the risk?

I would think if anything screams get a real PG it's getting Bam/AD in the front court.

I really like Herro, but damn how do you hedge against AD being injury prone? You center the trade around another injury prone player.

Good Greif what would the defense look like with no Herro getting ran by, and AD/BAM/Wiggins and a return to form Mitchell?

I am sure there will be tons of interest in AD and lord knows how all that money will shake out...

How does AD fit in this offense by any stretch of the imagination, even if healthy, while Powell and Herro are not a good fit? I just...what?

And to whoever said it, yes, Spo has been carrying this team to relevance for a bit under a decade. Our rosters have been pretty awful outside of Jimmy and Bam, and even worse if Herro is as terrible as some think. Yet we've been a playoff team and even highly ranked in many seasons. It actually gets ridiculous to see so many act like we're hamstrung by having him as a coach.

Agree. The only move I see even remotely possible is a Herro trade (and this largely depends on how far apart they were on an extension over the summer), and his injury probably handcuffs the Heat in their ability to get good value for Herro before the deadline.

If Miami passed on trading for Durant or taking less for Wiggins, the FO is certainly not going to go all-in on a player unless it's a Giannis type acquisition. I don't think AD or Morant qualify for that.

My guess is Miami is offering Herro $35M/season and Herro wants $45M/season and the two sides have agreed to see where things stand next summer.

There's also a chance the herro camp preferred the 4/207M option instead of the early extension.

Personally, I'm not sure he'd get 45M on the open market.

1. Not alot of teams have capspace.
2. Hes injury prone.
3. His archtype has very little value right now.

Same thing goes for powell with age being the issue, but they are both the same archtype.

Brunson hurt his ankle and left in a walking boot so I’d assume he missed the next 2 games against us, not that it matters after tonight lol

That just means Miles McBride is gonna turn into Steph Curry on us.

Really disappointing to see Miami lose to the Cleveland nobodies. Just an atrocious 2nd half (only 47 points scored versus 69 in the 1st half) and, mainly, 4th quarter. It's the 3rd or 4th time this year Miami has **** the bed offensively in the 4th quarter.

Before someone here starts berating Miami's defense -- and rightfully so; WHO THE F gives up 130 points to a Cleveland team without Mobley and Mitchell??? -- Miami gave up 2 more points in the 1st half vs the 2nd half and Miami won the 1st half by 3 and lost the 2nd half by 17.

I am so glad JWill admitted he was passing shots and Riley was getting on him about it. I use to be at games yelling at JWill to shoot and stop passing up shots. I was thinking I know damn well Riley cant be tell him to not take the shot. It seem it was on purpose. Now I know it was lol

Can we please take a minute to appreciate how deep the NBA is now with influx of young talent, international talent and also veterans playing longer and better into their 30s than in the past. If you're in the nba, you're good. And lets not forget that we are missing our two best guys.

We aren't the wade lebron heat or the durant curry warriors or current OKC team... how do you thinks Cavs fans felt losing to Miami Monday without herro and bam. Being beat by Pelle Larsson Ware Fontecchio Jovic. How many casual nba fans know who those guys are. We played super sloppy, way too many turnovers. It happens.

Still v happy with the product on the court.

The defense in this era is unwatchable.. ive complained about it on this board for 3 years.. the regular season is like 83 all star games.. just no defense, take a garbage shot that youd see in practice, splash..

When you see the disparity of points scored in the regular season vs the playoffs.. thats all you got to know about the players effort on defense during the regular season

As heat fans we are just used to a different kind of ball.. we even made Bosh, who was a traffic cone in Toronto, an above average defensive help defender, his lateral movement, he would trap them pick and rolls like no other could for his size..

Bosh would be a top 5 defensive big man in this era.. a lot of his highlights as a Heat come from massive rebound by him or a crazy blocked shot..

We can appreciate the depth of the league and the talent in the league -- IMO, only the NBA in the 80s is comparable -- and also think Miami shouldn't lose to the team the Cavs threw out last night. Of the guys who played, only Allen would start for Miami. (Ohhhh ok, Spo wouldn't resist starting Duncan Robinson Sam Merrill. )

It's still not a game Miami should have lost, and I think the 1st 3 quarters showed that. Unfortunately, Miami just blew it in the 4th.

So, yeah, it happens, but it shouldn't have given how Miami played the 1st 3 quarters.

Good thing we extended him before he ever showed any signs of consistency

Crazy that an NBA team can just throw $60 mil on an unproven big coming off the bench like it’s nothing.
Proud embarrassment

I love to tell people on this board i told you so.. because i did.. i said dont extend herro, dont extend jovic, give davion his QO… like a broken record i mustve posted that 20 times

Who were we bidding against to offer him 64 million.. seriously… thats the caleb martin mistake that we got saved because calebs agent who overvalued his worth in the free market.. he ended up getting 35 million in philly, we offered 30 million more..

Max strus got 4 year 63 million from the cavs, he was far more productive for us than Jovic has ever been..

But we offered Jovic that kind of cash, based off potential.. complete no show at the end of the season.. he lifted some weights in the offseason and convinced the Heat he is that guy.

We have very poor money managers of our salary cap.. that was DUMB. And it closed off an opportunity potential of two max slots by caving into a guy who wont be nothing more than a rotational player in this league

That's an old episode, but yeah, for whatever reason both him and Mike Miller were allergic to shooting, both former Gators/Grizzlies too.

Niko looks like one of those guys who you dismiss and then one year it randomly clicks and he puts up 25/10/5 and everyone goes how did we miss him? Except, for a lot of guys that click moment never happens. So I get it, I get why they wanted to take the chance. You watch him and you can see the package of skills, and you go "if he could just get it together", but eh, who knows if it will happen. Its not like he got a max or something, but still hopefully he's not gonna be the next Duncan where we just dream about the day we can move him.
