By far best player on Hornets.

LaMelo is like Lavine. If Tre Jones replaced LaMelo Hornets would sniff the play in.

Kon is playing very well, looking as if he will be a legit NBA baller. But he does have an advantage over many other rookies, in that the Hornets 1) have immediately plugged him into his correct role (off ball shooter) and 2) have an excellent distributor to get him the ball (LaMelo is averaging 10 assists per game this season).

Again, no knock on Kon, but it's always hard to get a sense for how rookies will pan out in the first half of their first seasons, because not only are they sorting their roles out, but so often are their teams.

He's played better with Ball out but otherwise agree with all this. This time two weeks ago Edgecombe was a certified star and now he sucks. Rookies have ups and downs and it's way too small of a sample to project much.

Mobley and Mitchell sitting out the front of a B2B tonight. Awful optics for the league and would upset me if I had tickets.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

Went to a Bucks/Hornets game last year. Charlotte was missing everyone. Giannis went through warmups and was in the player intros. Then didn't come out for the game. Literally a last minute scratch.

It's a joke at this point. I'm not against workload management, but fans (especially of bad teams) who go to games to watch specific players consistently get screwed. You end up paying hundreds to watch bench players.

Beal out. Well, he’s been washed and done, but this might be the final blow.

So are Clippers regretting the Powell trade? Seems like a net-loss of an off-season; he seemed to keep things going. An injury to 36yo Harden or Kawhi and we’re gonna see AJ Dybansta or Boozer on OKC’s bench. :noway:

A lottery pick might be going to OKC to the dismay of all of the NBA

Wemby once again showing that stopping GOAT candidates isn't about schemes, or even personnel. It's basically about the Lord answering the opposing coach's prayers. Unfortunately for the Warriors, He was not listening to Steve Kerr last night.

Was interesting hearing Ty Lue in the post game presser say their plan was to let Jokic score and limit the other players, and that he just didn't anticipate Jokic going for 50+

Very reminiscent of our conversations following the Spurs game, where it looked like we employed a similar strategy against Wemby and company.

Was also refreshing to hear a coach just be so transparent and honest, the Bulls entire org has mastered the meaningless word salad speaking.

Early on but my Kalkbrenner love from the draft is making me look smart for once

Just shooting a casual 83% from the field, while locking down the paint.

Ha! You are right, that 83% FG percentage is for the season. That guy is my kind of center.

I don't think it's out of the question that Queen will be better than whoever the Hawks draft with the Pelicans 2026 first round pick.

If it's not one of the four or five blue chips it's almost a guarantee . Queen looks great .

I guess it's always been the case, but man I look around the league and there are so many overpaid and/or injured vets who aren't worth the money.

Embiid $55
AD $54
Beal $54
Zach $47
Sabonis $44
Ja $39
Zion $39
MPJ $38

Just yuck. Some of them can play, some can't, but in all cases those are budget busters. Oh, and Klay at $34 million, I forgot to mention him.

It's not just the pick. It was the lower pick in 2025 (Asa Newell) plus New Orleans 2026 pick for Queen

Well, most these guys got paid before the new apron rules, but yeah. It’s truly amazing that Nico gave up a top-20 all-time 25yo for a guy whose 50/50 bet is whether he’ll watch the game in street clothes.

I think the apron rule is especially harsh on big salaries with injury woes. Maybe Nico used Grok to figure out that trade.

So it's Jeremiah Fears and Derik Queen vs. Asa Newell and TBD. It's looking good for the Pelicans.

That was my guy too.
I wanted the Bulls to trade for a late first to select him.
