Celts Drink From NBA Cup Of Shame! Loss vs BKN 11/21

Post#1 » by bisme37 » Sat Nov 22, 2025 2:57 am

Well hell you guys apparently winning the NBA Cup is not the Celtics' cup of tea lol.

Celts didn't match the Nets' energy and got outplayed in pretty much all the ways. If you missed it, go you!

Let's bounce back imo!

Magic Sunday, Go C's!

Getting absolutely nothing from White and Hauser each night. Not enough depth to make up for it

And to think. Some of us thought this was a .500 team before the season started.

White has been really exposed this year. Good third option. Absolutely horrible second option.

No silver lining to this. Celtics are not a good team, Brooklyn is abysmal and they’ve manhandled Boston.

Starting to think reality will hit this team soon and the losses may start to pile up.

Hauser is completely unplayable at this point, and I may bench him and give Hugo his minutes. I love Derek White, but good God he’s been awful this year.

Celtics should not be this bad.
While we lost several key Players, a lot of these Guys rode the Good Times, to the Finals.

Time to Player-Up.
There's not much in the way of leadership; outside of Jaylen, and an Injured Jayson.

Get it together.

Brad Stevens needs to make some difficult roster decisions, for the sake of JT and JB contending again. Ride or die with the young guys and ship everyone else out for draft capital or younger players. Too many important players went out the door last season, and they weren't even good enough to get it done (yes Tatum got hurt, they were toast before then). We're wasting time expecting guys like Sam Hauser to be anything more than they currently are, but I'm sure a contending team would take him in a heartbeat. Absolutely no reason for him to be here clogging up minutes that should be going to guys like Hugo Gonzales.

A bit jealous of what the Pacers are doing TBH. They're heading towards drafting a potential stud at the top of the draft to pair with Hali when he's back, instead of making a wasting a season trying to contend with a sub-par roster.

Only people who deserve votes are the fans who bought tickets to the game, esp those loyal enough to stay to the end

AOS to Joe for handling the rotations
And AOS for Brad for getting this Lilliput team. We needed size and we got Baylor instead of Fillipoewski, Shulga and Williams instead of Kalk; letting the C dept go and adding Garza (who I like for the effort, but he is so limited on defense it is scary)
No size, no muscle, no athleticism

Joe really blew this game with the rotations and substitutions (Hugo 5 mins +12 - the team is clicking and he gets him out for White...). Play Walsh, Hugo and Minott together. Wreck havoc on defense. Show some resistance on defense. The offense will come

100% agree with above. Brad's roster building through the draft has been really "poor" and Joe is.... well most know what I think.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Last yr, our team got old and stagnant... and our only first round pick since Payton Pritchard is Baylor Scheierman who is age 25 already
This yr, we have some younger pieces that have showed promising signs -- Hugo & Walsh & Minott

But still our young talent are not blue chippers. For five years we've barely used the draft... that adds up!

Aside from youth, athleticism and bigs -- we are also missing passing on our team. So many times guys are moving, getting open and the pass never comes.

Brown, Payton, White for their role/position are average or below average passers. Anfernee Simons actually is the only guard I see out there firing passes to Queta & Garza and cutters and I'm like, "Ant Simons shouldn't be the only player who can see a role man and complete a pass to him."

So ... yea...

Last season or this season, stay quiet, and keep the blinders on. It’s not happening. I feel like I’m going crazy. Blame everybody except the people we should be able to count on. It’s funny.

Anywho, I knew we couldn’t count these 2 wins, because this rag-tag group hasn’t been consistent more than a game at a time. We can win a few in a row, but that doesn’t come from consistency, it comes from doing just enough more than once.

If I was worked up when we flopped our way to the 6th pick (5th?) for Smart, I can do it this season! It’s fun! All the years before we finally won the chip were fun, we complained and celebrated the whole way. If we didn’t care along the way, the win wouldn’t have been as sweet! Well, not for me.

Triumph after failure is the way sports work, heck, life too. Don’t give up on it now! Cuss when it goes bad, cheer when it’s great… or don’t. I’ll do it for you and me! :D

.500 ball is a bit disappointing considering the competition/schedule (if they're trying to win). But if we come out this season without any major injuries and adding a couple of young rotation guys, that's a win in my book. Really wish we'd get a high pick though. We don't have much in terms of assets to build a title team up again.

Each to their own. Trust me I watch each game and am interested, but also realistic where we are and know sometimes the bigger picture is when you’re in a growth and development phase (like we are in a mini one with our reset), no point getting too worked up over the little bumps along the way. I still like us to win when watching, but don’t get overly emotional about when we don’t.
