Currently the Washington Generals is on pace to be the worst defensive team in NBA history.

It's not just that they are surrendering 129.1 ppg, but that is a simple reflection that they give up (opponents stats)

a league worst:
50.6 opponent rpg per game
11.6 opponent TOs per game
17.9 opponent PFs per game

That all sums to giving up, for opponents:
second worst FGAs per game
second worst FTMs per game
second worst opponent APG
3rd worst FGAs per game
8th worst opponent FG%

And this is from a not very good offensive team (bottom half of every stat).

For me the reason "how" this is such a horrible team is summed up in rebounding differential (-7.0) and TO differential (+5.7). That means that opponents are getting almost 12 extra possessions every game AS AN AVERAGE

We might be witnessing the best NBA team in league history (OKC) in the same year as the worst team in league history.

The Kings have been quite bad this year (not surprising since they kept playing 4 guards lineups with negative defenders while Keegan was out) but they have also had by far the toughest schedule so far, they have already played OKC and Denver 3 times each and they have also played the Wolves 3 times, and have had only 3 games against teams with sub .500 records.

Are we rooting for Detroit over Boston or not? I kind of want to be the team that breaks their streak and their spirit.

Just root against all teams that are higher than us in the EC.

We need their losses to pile up so we leapfrog over them.

Dont care if we the ones to break DET streak. Care about DET losing 2 in a row.

Being "pissed" isn't really a factor in motivation in terms of a team playing better. Knicks had every right to want to pay us back and lost again. In fact, if the Pistons had won, we'd both be 3-0 and there is the same amount of motivation to "care" to win the Cup so we'd be getting the same sort of Pistons who want to win regardless.

BTW.. any cup expert here can say what scenarios are on the table? DET needs to beat us by how many points to advance?

Just saying anger doesn't make shots haha. I'd say there's very little difference if they had won or lost. That's why they had a 14/15 game winning streak because they were still motivated to win regardless.

Detroit would win the group outright if they beat us. Point differential wouldn't matter, as the first tiebreaker is head-to-head record.

In other words, the Celtics still owe us.
