17 of those wins were against sub .500 teams. I’ll be more impressed if they keep it up in mid January when they finally start to play some decent teams.

To further elaborate on this, they have played 3 games against the top 6 teams of each conference.

3.

Portland has played 14 games against the top 6 of each conference for some frame of reference here.

OKC next 3 are against the Jazz, Clippers and Booker-less Suns. They just don’t face good teams lol.

isnt that NBA Cup thing coming up? does that not count for MVP?

Absolutely love Jokic, but it’s SGA right now and it’s not even close.

i can't believe that kind of performance vs the 5th best defense in the league in just 28 minutes and 12 fga. surreal.

there's a gap forming in epm, and he overtake jokic in offensive epm.

Nuggets are 9-5 against sub .500 teams - why can’t they take care of business like OKC does routinely?

OKC is 5-0 against above .500 teams including wins over Houston and the Lakers (beat them by 30 fyi) without their 2nd best player.

But nobody is calling Denver some unbeatable juggernaut, the last time I checked.

The narrative is that OKC is plowing through the league like some unstoppable force, and they have been, but when you examine it a little more closely, the lack of quality teams they have beaten shaves some of the luster off a little. Again, I want to see them dominate when their schedule gets tougher is all I’m really saying.

Yeah nobody is saying that because they keep getting beat by mediocre or bad teams lol. I totally get wanting to see OKC beat a strong schedule but they are the defending champs after all - it feels a bit silly to say they need to prove it against better competition.

Finally Shai has already surpassed Luka in FY rate 52.6% vs 51.9%,

But OKC is plowing through the league. B2B's, injuries to Jdubb/IHart/Caruso/Dort, and they continue to beat everyone in front of them, including the best the west has to offer sans Denver (beat LA/HOU/Wolves, all without Jdub).

Injuries dont exist in these arguments. They inly exist when they happen to nuggets players.

After Shai, Jdub/Ihart/Caruso are 3 of their next 4 most important players, and theyve all missed time, some of them significant chunks of the season. Chet himself has missed 4 games, and OKC has still only 1 loss on the season. That someone can say "they havent had a tough schedule" when theyve also beaten the best of their conference with all of these injuries.....what are we discussing here? When this team won 68 games last year and the title.

They were a near 70 win team last year with a Shai that was playing like a top 5 peak SG ever. He's now returned playing at a GOAT level (his own GOATness overshadowed by Jokic) and people pick holes at their record? Ya, theyre probably not 77 win team good, but over 70 is for sure in play, and possibly 74 for the new record.

This feels eerily similar to the dynasty warriors btw.

In 2015, Dubs/Currys coming out party with 67 wins.

In 2016, they took it to another level with a record setting 73 wins and Curry having one of the most impressive and iconic seasons in history. With a unanimous MVP in a league with prime KD and LeBron.

Okc won 68 last year and are so far 21-1 (while injured btw)

Shai hasn't had the jump Curry has but he has improved and is making his stamp as one of the greats. All this happened exactly 10 years ago. Lot of parallels going on here.

Shai clearly has taken a jump. We won't even know how high until the end of the year.

It's actually Giannis whose defense has been consistently mediocre over the past 3 seasons (including this season).

While Jokic has been improving on that end over the past 3 seasons. It is pretty evident when you watch them play.

Ya Jokic has been rough on defense this year. Much of it is not having A.Gordon to help in the FC, but he's straight up looked bad, and there's not much you can say to apologize for it. Slacking off on defense is what vet superstars do in the RS, so ya, go for it, but dont make it seem that its something it isnt.

Even so, it is HARD AF to go 22-1. 22-1 is outrageously impressive. It's even more impressive when you consider they have not had their 2nd best player for the majority of those games.

I still have Jokic ahead because to me it should go to the best player unless there are special circumstances. If OKC sniffs 70-wins with SGA averaging 33-6-5 in 33 min would definitely counts as special circumstances. If OKC is closer to 65 wins for the season, Denver will have to have ~55+ wins for Jokic to have a chance at winning it.
