The above post took almost 30 seconds to go through. I hit "submit" again while I was waiting and it posted twice. That's probably the problem, things are moving so slow that people hit submit more than once and eventually they all post, but it takes awhile.

We are having issues with a very large volume of bots acting as users scraping the website and we are working to implement filtering to combat this. This is the root cause of these SQL errors and timeouts, along with the double posting, etc.

Please be patient while we work to tune this.
We should have it setup shortly so that you get a CAPTCHA instead of forbidden access if you're using a IP that has been flagged as bot-like.

As mentioned, VPNs getting blocked was unavoidable but not intentional.
We have now implemented a captcha (aka, not a bot) prompt to allow those on VPNs to proceed.

Ok. So this is where you complain about Cloudflare.

I hated Cloudflare before RealGM was using it. In the last half hour, I've had to do the human check thing 3 or 4 times. Why? But at least it's automatic.

Same here. Better than nothing, but still a little annoying.

I'm not using a VPN, by the way.

Site Admins, please fix this site.

The ads are riddled with viruses, redirections, etc on mobile it is completely unusable.

Then you've also seemingly lost the https:// status and Chrome seems to think this site is unsafe and tries to block users from accessing the site too.

If you are giving up on this site please let us know so we can make secondary plans before we all lose contact.

I really hope you guys can fix all this because I would rather not have this site die.

I can't speak to the ads in use as I am only contracted to admin the servers for RealGM, but I can attest that there is no "lost https:// status", if an item on the page from a third party is causing the browser to complain about security, it's not a "https" issue.

For what it's worth, personally I never see these issues here as I use the Brave browser,

Please DM me the IP you're having trouble with and I will check out why it's being flagged.

This has been brought back online, it's been down intentionally while we implemented fixes to prevent abuse from bots causing server load issues.

The site seems broken this week. Loading takes way too long. Getting Site Not Found screens and having to refresh.

I have spent most of today working to diagnose this and I believe it's now corrected. Please let me know if you continue to have issues.

This is what I get when loading this site in chrome recently:

I also don't think we should have to use a certain browser to avoid these issues. Whatever is going on between the site and the ads there is clearly some issue here and I hope you guys sort it out soon, the last 3+ years the ads on mobile have been horrible and redirecting ads with pop ups and nonsense. I understand the site needs some revenue to keep it afloat but whoever is running the ad side of things needs to do better research and a better ad vetting process clearly.
