Let's play guess January's record

Post#1 » by sanddude909 » Fri Jan 4, 2008 12:44 am

Here are the remaining January games:

1/4 New Orleans (W)
1/7 San Antonio (L)
1/9 at Portland (L)
1/11 Memphis (W)
1/13 Indiana (W)
1/15 at Minnesota (W)
1/15 at Indiana (W?)
1/18 at Chicago (W?)
1/19 at Milwaukee (W?)
1/21 Minnesota (W)
1/24 New Jersey (W)
1/27 New York (W)
1/29 at Houston (W?)
1/30 at New Orleans (L)

that looks like 7 likely wins, 3 likely losses, and 4 tossups. Assume we go 1-3 on the tossup games, all of which are on the road, and my money is on 8-6 for the month. Hopefully I am wrong and we split the tossups to go 9-5.

That would put us in really good shape to make a big February run.

If you gave me 7-7 right now, I'd take it.

10-4 is my hope, I'd love to see the Warriors have a little streak right about now and with that game lineup it is possible.
I'm stoked that we've made it through this tough stretch still looking upwards.

my prediction, pretty similar to the OP though.

1/4 New Orleans (W)
1/7 San Antonio (L)
1/9 at Portland (L)
1/11 Memphis (W)
1/13 Indiana (W)
1/15 at Minnesota (W)
1/15 at Indiana (W)
1/18 at Chicago (L) (letdown game)
1/19 at Milwaukee (W)
1/21 Minnesota (W)
1/24 New Jersey (W)
1/27 New York (W)
1/29 at Houston (W)
1/30 at New Orleans (L)

If we only lose 4 games (and it's pretty possible), i'd be very happy. but there's gonna be more games where we just don't have it, so more realistically probably 6 losses or so.

1/4 New Orleans (W/L)
1/7 San Antonio (L)
1/9 at Portland (W/L)
1/11 Memphis (W)
1/13 Indiana (W)
1/15 at Minnesota (W)
1/15 at Indiana (W)
1/18 at Chicago (W/L)
1/19 at Milwaukee (W)
1/21 Minnesota (W)
1/24 New Jersey (L)
1/27 New York (W)
1/29 at Houston (W)
1/30 at New Orleans (W/L)

11-3 at best, 8-6 at worst IMO.

11-3 = 30-17 after January
8-6 = 27-20 after January

Either scenario still isn't that bad after this month.

I'm trying to look at this with realistic optimism. We've shown we can dig in to win some tough games, but at the same time we need to use our emotion/energy at the right time to be clutch and hold leads.

i'm too lazy to mark my predictions, but that schedule looks super easy. just gotta worry about SA, NO and POR. We just gotta make sure we don't lose to the teams that we're supposed to beat and we'll be fine.

Warriors will finish the season 50-32 and take the 5th or 6th seed.

i break it down below:

i think we'll go 9-5 in the remaining January games.
then our record will be 28-19 :D

then my prediction for February and March

17-9 over those two months.

then our record will be 45-28

then my prediction for the final 9 games in April are that we go 5-4

then our final record for the season will be 50-32 :D

5th or 6th seed...

Why is everyone predicting a win tonight? Hornets are playing great and are way more consistent than the Warriors.

Where's the thread for the December record? What was our record in December? Who guessed it right?

1/4 New Orleans (L)
1/7 San Antonio (L)
1/9 at Portland (W)
1/11 Memphis (W)
1/13 Indiana (W)
1/15 At Minnesota (W)
1/16 At Indiana (W)
1/18 At Chicago (W)
1/19 At Milwaukee (W)
1/21 Minnesota(W)
1/24 New Jersey (W)
1/27 New York (W)
1/29 At Houston (W)
1/30 At New Orleans (L)

11-3 is my optimistic call.

1/4 New Orleans (L)
1/7 San Antonio (L)
1/9 at Portland (L)
1/11 Memphis (L)
1/13 Indiana (W)
1/15 At Minnesota (W)
1/16 At Indiana (L)
1/18 At Chicago (L)
1/19 At Milwaukee (W)
1/21 Minnesota(W)
1/24 New Jersey (W)
1/27 New York (W)
1/29 At Houston (L)
1/30 At New Orleans (L)

Pessimistic is 6-8, which would still put us over .500 at the beginning of Feb, which is what we need.

I think 9-5 is a reasonable prediction based on the amount of SHOULD wins at home against poor teams.....

I still think Portland is overrated and Nelson will solve the pick and roll and Warriors will not be surprised this time around.

I think I see a period of lethargy coming on. I don't think the next few weeks will be very good, but I think the Warriors will wake up and kick some butt in February.

In the shot run, I think the Warriors will get up for San Antonio.
