The Okafor Suddenly Sucks Thread
The question is: why?
Does he want out of Charlotte?
Has he honestly regressed in skills?
Does he have a bad attitude?
Does he dislike Vincent and/or the system?
Is he simply being misused?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I think it's very suspicious that we get a new coach and suddenly Okafor is stinking to high heaven.

How many times does Ham have to tell you ...IT IS OUR SORRY PGs...ESPICALLY FELTON". I'm sure he will chime in here...to make sure you know it...again...and again ...and again....and if you go to charlotte.com board ...again... and again....and whatever other board you find his name on.....

Can't put the blame on Felton coach V has him playing the two??
I think OK50 don't like the system hes in with coach V .And i all so think think hes thinking to much befor he reacts.
Felton may not be the best of point guards . But i think the system hurts his play as much if not more than the play of OK50.
Both players a what you would call servicable as the very least.
And with two players playing at 20ppg or better this team should be playing at least .500 ball
Put the blame where it belongs poor coaching, Not many coaches loose duble digit leads on a regular basis. AND KEEP THAIR JOB?????????????

I'm much more concerned as to why Mek has been a virtual no show on defense. I realize our perimeter D has been awful which allows opposing players to get into the paint at will, but come on, Mek has been out of position and slow to rotate all year long. Also, he has not been boxing out or bullying his man off the low block. And his non-stop whining and complaining to the refs is tiresome.
Offensively Okafor has regressed. I cringe whenever someone passes him the ball. He has no moves around the hoop, can't shoot and has hands of stone. And he sucks at the free throw line.
In conclusion, Okafor has to go!!!!!!!!!!!! At this point, I'm not signing him for the same contract Crash got! And I'm not saying Muhammad is the answer at center, but it's at the point now where anything is better than Okafor. Heck even Ryan Hollins at least has some moves around the basket and tries to defend.

No way that we get rid of Okafor. It would be like the Bobcats saying, "That was a huge mistake trading up to get Okafor." The dude is still averaging a double double for the season.
Okafor isn't trying to defend? He's averaging a steal and close to 2 blocks a game. I think you need to calm down and let him fight through this slump before you say dump a guy who averages at least 10 pts and 10 rebounds a game with a steal and 2 blocks.
Ok, he isn't the superstar we thought, but he still is a very productive player on this team. He'll be a Buck Williams kind of player with less offense and more defense. Nothing to be ashamed of as Buck Williams was a really solid player in the league for awhile. He was a big part of the Blazers while they were contending for championships.
Maybe this bad season will reward us with DeAndre Jordan?

Michael Beasley would be great too...but the NBA hates the Bobcats so we will not end up with the #1 pick.

I have not seen Jordan play much but what I have seen was not that impressive...I'm sure he has the attributes to come around (7ft). I guess I can't get over the fact he shoots like 30% FTs...

The reason I say it over and over and over again, is because it's true.
Here's another time for you:
Okafor, probably more than anyone else on the team, relies on other players to set him up. He's got two awful PGs, and a bunch of other guys that haven't been in the position to worry about setting others up, trying to set him up. Even though I give Wallace credit, because even with a ton of turnovers, at least he's trying to get the team going, since it's painfully obvious no one else is.
And what's the problem saying something over and over? It's been one of our biggest problems for years, and it's still here. Of course I am going to keep bringing it up. It's not like I'm some of you guys, blaming Bickerstaff, then blaming Knight, then blaming Richardson, then blaming Wallace, and I guess Okafor is the new flavor of the month.
You:
2+2=6!
2+2=8!
2+2= ()
2+2=green!
Me:
2+2=4
I don't need to change stories, and find new people to blame every other week, because I know who the problems are:
Vincent, Felton, McInnis.

Boy, you sure nailed me there!
You post crap, I respond to your crap. Yes, yes it is like clockwork.
Do I get to one-up you back, by saying that it's only a matter of time before you make an excuse for Felton, blame Felton's team mates and/or coach for Felton sucking, all the while rewarding him with your gameball votes, with such great excuses as, "well, the whole team sucked, so I'm gonna go with Felton" (gee, really?!) and "this team is so awful, I'm going to give Felton a game ball for having to put up with them!" <--- I especially liked that one, even though to be honest, I can't remember if it was you or another one of the idiots that used that as a reason to give Felton a gameball.

Not me....and for that matter I was never one of the guys you have issues with regarding Knight. I simply did not see the purpose in seeing a Knight/Felton back court. And knight was injury prone so why not give the job to Felton. I did not think that having Knight looking over his back from the bench would hurt him at all....I just think it has become a mission of yours to bash Felton no matter what....you might want to look at other posters that flop from bashing one guy to another...I have specific issues about players games, that I have problems with (even Felton)...I really don't think that one player is killing our team and have stood by the premise that the coaching(system) is the issue. The only one I think sux totally is McMinus and that is because he really serves no purpose on the court. If he was a true backup and seeing only 15mins a game I probably would not have that much of a problem with him.....and It did not take me to get you to respond to this thread...as soon as you saw someone question Mek you were already typing...I just added fuel...W_HAMILTON wrote:Boy, you sure nailed me there!

You don't know a lot of things.
And he didn't come in and "immediately start playing better than Okafor." That's what's the funny part. A few of you idiot Okafor bashers hold up Mohammed like he's a God, when his number with us are pretty much comparable to what Okafor has been averaging this season:
Mohammed: 0.34 rebounds/minute
Okafor: 0.31 rebounds/minute
Mohammed: 0.39 points/minute
Okafor: 0.38 points/minute
Mohammed turns the ball over MUCH more (which is funny, considering all the complaints about how Okafor turns the ball over too much) -- Okafor turns it over less, even though he averages almost 10 minutes more per game. Okafor averages more blocks/minute. Both are pretty poor FT shooters, and Mohammed averages less than 3% better shooting from the field, which is basically right around what Okafor averaged until this recently "slump."
So, they're both basically doing the same thing, just one is held up to godlike status, while the other one gets blamed as the reason why we suck, heh. Now, if you want to bitch about Okafor's potential and say that he should be doing better, so be it. But you and the others aren't doing that. You're complaining about what he is giving us now. Don't praise one guy for giving you something, then criticize another guy for giving you the same sort of production.

The only way we should get rid of mek is if he gets a ridiculous offer from some other team or we get a great trade offer...
Not Gasol, that is a Lateral move at best...
People badly underate good defensive players, would you really trade mek for Zach Randolph, or somebody who looks more comfortable with the ball in their hands? If you take mek off this team right now they get worse.

First of all I was talking about Nazr as a starter not a bench player. His production has gone way down since scam vincent(borrowing somebody's term) started bringing him from the bench. And have we gotton to the point where we compare Emeka "I am worth the maximmum" Okafor to Nazr muhammed?
With all that said I am afraid of trading Okafor and him commimg back to hunt us. Maybe he is thinking too much about his contract, or he doesn't like the coach and pg or maybe personal issues? Who knows.
I know one thing though, the coach and pg have to go first. Lets see what happens after that.

You must be thinking of emeka of yester year. He is not a defensive force this year. Just Ask Yi, Haywood or Bogut. Or maybe you should talk to Noah. Average centers are getting career highs against us.
