Depends on what you are looking to do. Long term investment? Probably yes. Sell it now? Probably not (I believe Griffey rookies, assuming you have the right rookie card, is worth more).

Isn't the baseball card market a lot more liquid than the basketball card market?

Your an idiot if you do that. A ken griffey rookie card from 89 will always be more rare than Lebron's rookie card. Historically baseball cards also hold much more value than basketball cards.

i think the big thing you are missing is that back then you didnt have so many different Griffey rookie cards..nowadays you have so many different brands making Lebron James rookie cards.. scarcity is key..
