Actually it did help a lot, we were up by a significant lead when he sat down. It was the reserves that lost the lead by halftime.
But I don't think Kobe played more team ball after halftime. The guy scored just as many points as he did in the first half. What happened was that the offense was ran almost exclusively through him (Fish wasn't having a very good game), and Kobe either created easy shots for his teammates or scored himself.
He just dominated. Kobe does whatever he has to for his team to win. Except the last shot, I think he was going for 40 when he pulled up for that three.
