Disturbed and Argumentive folks post HERE.....

is do what CJ did and go to the D league. I'm convinced if Marco can go there and get more burn he'll be able to help this team later in the season. I'm not buying the "he needs to learn the playbook crap" cuz his name is not Jokim Noah or Ike Diogu; I don't think its difficult for him to learn. Send him down to the D League (along with Kosta... tell Kosta to bring back some Taco Bell) and have Wright and POB activated for the games instead.

EDITED FOR WHAT THIS THREAD IS

Did we here some buzz a while back about Marco telling the team he preferred to stay with them? I'm not sure, maybe I'm thinking of someone else...

thats correct. i think he has too much pride to go to the dleague. i would love him to go down to the d league tear it up like he did in summer league come back and actually be a role player. i wish that belinelli started a couple games because it seems he comes in and he is ice cold and takes a three and bricks it hard.

he said he'd rather stay with the team and not play.
He wants to be an NBA player, not a D-leaguer.

who cares what he wants? if the franchise feels that he'd develop more by playing in the dleague than by sitting in the big league, then he should be sent down. i'm sure he feels he should be playing 35 mpg too, should we be giving him that because its what he wants?

i'm sure just about every starter on a aaa baseball team would rather be the 25th man on a major league team. but its not up to them, and for good reason.

i'm not arguing for sending him down, just saying that his opinion is inconsequential unless the team feels that a demotion would do some permanent damage to his psyche (and if so, they shouldn't have taken such a mentally feeble player).

heh. I knew someone was going to say that.
I was only mentioning his comment because it was somewhat related to the thread, not because I think that what Marco wants, Marco gets.

Its a cultural thing.

If we send him down, it'll be hurtful to him. We can't treat him like a straight out of college guy who knows pretty much why he's going down.

I think it would probably be the best thing for him, and yes the organization makes the decisions regardless, but it takes time for him to understand what goes on. Its not like we can be as cut-throat with him as other players. He's part of the future and you don't act cut-throat with the future.

Thing is, we don't have all the time in the world for him to learn the ropes here, so sending him down would help him. Just make him understand why and what'll happen next. Easier said than done.

Its different in baseball too because there are more prospects and potential than in basketball, that you can demote/promote guys more freely.

I'm just looking at Watson (and yes floppy... he said he'd rather sit on the bench and watch than go down to the D league) and seeing how mature he is on the court... furthermore, how HUMBLE he is. Staying a hotel room with a guy who craps his pants has made him a better person. (wait, huh?). Marco needs to not be like the guy in Rocky 5.... he needs to be Rocky in Rocky 4.

Once the nut job leaves, we should buy out Marco.

I haven't got to see much of Marco, but from what I have heard, he has a lot of work to do, and he isn't shooting well either. Maybe he should be like Watson/Azu and go to the D-League, then become an impact player.

Well I think we can throw out the pride-obliterating bitchslap that is going down to the D-League now... Nellie figured he needed to send him a message, so instead of letting Beli go to the D-League, he brought a D-Leaguer in to replace Beli...

Beli's admission that he doesn't like people to pressure him when he dribbles was it... he's a shooting SG. He needs to log some kind of minutes because when he's hot, he can make almost anything... we need to let him heat-check for at least 5 minutes a game...

We used Dajuan to inspire Ellis (or so it seemed)....
Only natural that CJ is Belli's natural comparison.

I have no problem playing Wright now (defensively).... offensively he's terrible but you can live with that as long as there's not too much cheating.

But Belli doesn't pay dividends on the the defensive end yet, therefore, he can't get in the game (save the POB remarks).

I'm against sending anybody down there until they upgrade things in the Dleague. Kosta said there wasn't even any workout facilities near by, what kinda crap is that? Bakersfield is a hell hole, I don't blame players for not wanting to go down there.

If I sucked as much as Belinelli does at 21 years old, I'd want to play..Especially since I'd still be making millions...I'd want to learn how to rebound, defend, pass and take decent shots..I wouldnt want stay with the warriors and get laughed at...

Trade Marco to a team not going anywhere this year.

Like Miami : )

Include him in a "package" to snag Udonis

I'm down.

MP, Marco, Kosta & 2nd?

for

Wright & Haslem

I'd even be willing to put my mancrush on Al on the back burner and live with him as Nellie's 6man.

Shoot, even with my man crush on Marco I'd take this deal without thinking twice.

Unfortunately, Pat Riley hasn't reached the dementia stage in his golden years quite yet. I think he's close, though.

Belinelli's refusal to go down and work on his game in the D league reminds me of Shaq not wanting Rick Barry's help on his FT's because he was worried about how it would look to shoot underhand.
