They said X-rays negative for Bynum, MRI tomorrow, but Bynum is in great deal of pain. They hope it's just a sprain.

will get an mri tomorrow morning.

i'm pretty convinced it'll be an ACL.

What's the recovery time for a moderate ACL injury?

They didn't say it was only a sprain, they said the Lakers hope it's only a sprain.

i'm pretty convinced it'll be an ACL tear.

I hope not. That would suck. I rather have a MCL tear.

What's the recovery time for a moderate ACL injury?

with the way he went down and the amount of pain he appeared to be in...even if its just a sprain to any knee ligament (mcl/pcl...etc), or some sort of meniscus tear, i'd say a minimum of 8 weeks. (didn't odom strain his mcl last season? he missed 6 weeks, and he's not nearly as big as bynum and he didn't appear to be in nearly as much pain)

if he tore his ACL, it'll be around 14-16 months before he's comfortable and aggressive with his knee on an nba court (see: nene, tony allen, nenad kristic)

Maybe they played the wrong angle too much.

Yeah, not sure what angle you saw. From what I saw, Yao had the ball clutched with both hands, Tyson fouls him hard across both arms forcing the ball to come loose. What's worse, the official had a clear view of it, so it wasn't a case of him standing from afar and having to make a judgment call -- he was right under the basket when it happened.

Then to make matters worse they call and1 on a fast break dunk-touch foul at the other end.

Rockets killed themselves earlier with numerous blown layups, but that call was a game-changer.

I dunno Bynum is a pretty big baby, the pain might not have been as bad as he made it seem. Either way, tough break for the Lakers.

Play by play says Kwame missed a dunk with 9 seconds left in a tie game.

Please tell me this really was as hilarious as I am picturing it.

Edit: Now it says there's a foul.

yep...more pathetic than hilarious. but it was the weakest foul you've ever seen in a tied game with 9 seconds left...and they only called it because he missed the dunk.
