goodness, this is the biggest no brainer in the history of my tenure as a fan of this team. this team needs a changeup, and at this stage in his career t-mac cares more about winning than stats and shoe sales. in the past i doubt he would have embraced a trade to milwaukee, but as of now, i am guessing he would love a chance to be in the east and dodge those near impossible western confernce playoff matchups.
it is easy to blast t-mac as a guy who has never got out of the first round, but look at the teams he has been on and tell me if he has ever been on a team that was favored.
make this happen as soon as possible... nearly everything favors us (getting more talent, getting more flexibility, getting more versitility, etc) and if it doesn't work out, T-Mac is always going to be a guy with trade value....
kohl and cronies... i know you are reading this... give us long suffering fans a reason to support this squad that has been an afterthought on the very pedestrian eastern confernce landscape since 2000...

Yeah, it's really tough for me to jump on the T-Mac for Redd bandwagon when it really doesn't solve ANY of our issues. It would be all the same thing all over again. T-Mac would be accused of hogging the ball from Bogut and Yi. We would lose whenever whenever jumpshots aren't falling.. Bobby Simmons and CV would continue playing inconsistently and NOTHING would change.midranger wrote:-= original quote snipped =-
1 less year of Redd's deal (which is actually huge). Better "star" recognition in the USA and China.
I agree though, basketball wise, I don't think this does all too much for the Bucks.
I can't get excited about that.. and I don't see what would be different with T-Mac over here over Redd. So if it happens fine, the biggest difference is we would know that Tracy would be hurt for more than half the season.

Sis, I'd make a Redd/McGrady swap merely for the hope that a change provides a spark. But I agree, the chance for significant improvement is marginal. That's why I'd like to get someone like Wells (realizing Battier is almost certainly a pipe dream). Adding both McGrady and Wells would really strengthen this team and provide the opportunity for serious improvement this season.
If Harris could pull off a Redd/Villanueva for McGrady/Wells trade I'd probably give him a contract extension on the spot. Probably.

I don't think the Rockets are that serious about trading McGrady, they're just trying to get a "feel" hoping that something worth-wild will/would pop-up that would be truely worth a trade.
In my opinion, when you talk about a player like McGrady its not a matter of if he's healthy or not -but a matter of how comfortable do you feel having him miss court time. He'll never play 82 games -do you gamble trading for him and he misses 10 games? 20 games or even half the year....is your team able to handle such obsticles? The back is as serious a problem a basketball player can have.
I would list this trade option as the 2nd to 3rd possible trades out there.
I just wanted to give my two cents on Villanueva, he's hit his ceiling playing in the NBA, he's just a second unit player that can subsitute on the starting line for limited amount of time. Yes, he can put up some descent numbers at times but it's very few and seems to becoming even fewer, as he's becoming more willing to float outside the paint. If I had to put a number on how likely I believe Villanueva will turn himself around into a successful starting bigman in the NBA I would have to say only 5% chance.

What would give you that impression? T-Mac would get Bogut and Yi more involved in the offense that Redd ever has or could. I have to disagree with that statement.

39-6 trade is still looking good.

According to Bobby Simmons' friend, Villanueva has asked to be traded. No way to know if that's true or not but if we assume Simmons' friend is credible (and all indications thus far are that he is) then we can assume this report is accurate.
It's in the Z-Bo thread.
WOW, I was convinced that Redd was going to be traded before I read that thread...now (if BuckSkins Fan is legit) I think it is almost guaranteed! I hope that Kohl has a senile moment where he allows this trade to go threw.

T-Mac also happens to lead his team in assists at 5.1, last year he had almost 7 a game. His career average is 4.6. Redd's highest assist year is this year at 3.7 and his career average is 2.2.
Like it was said, you can't compare McGrady to Redd when it comes to playmaking. McGrady is leaps and bounds better than Redd.

Wait, what does CV asking for a trade have to do with Redd being moved?

I was reffering to the rest of the talk from BuckSkins Fan of how Redd is viewed by the team in that Topic. Sorry, I should have been more clear.
Well I haven't read what BucksSKins said about the teams view of Redd. Mind filling me in or linking me to the thread and page it's on?

Its in the "Vecsey" thread, like midway through.
I didn't link you because you should read it all starting at a certain point, several good posts there if you believe BucksSkinsFan is legit, which I do seeing as how he broke the Bobby's son passing away (RIP) and broke starting lineups before they were announced, etc.

Start on this page, and keep reading until MBBOT takes over the topic (I think page 8 ). It is well worth the read:

Yikes! I didn't know that's what Simmons personal issue was. Thats really terrible news. Puts his play into context and makes me feel really bad for the guy.
