Well, when Kobe is surrounded by guys who play passively, his natural instinct is to dominate the ball and get something going. He did that in the Seattle game.
This game, he tried to set his teammates up in the 3rd quarter. When Kobe is surrounded by guys who can't play aggressively, like he was in that quarter, he can't play balanced.
The difference in the 4th quarter was obvious. When Kobe is surrounded by aggressive scorers, it's much easier to play a balanced game because his teammates are threats.
Let's be real here. At some point, to win a game, his teammates need to get going. We tried that in the third. Unfortunately, Phil had the wrong teammates in there around Kobe.

Yep. And I think we learned - start Turiaf (or at least get him in ASAP) and probably Ariza plus keep Java on the bench.
Thing is, we need Brown, if only to eat up minutes, until Bynum gets back. As mentally weak as he is, I'm not he'll respond well to getting benched. Just can't believe how soft this guy is.
I'd definitely support plugging in Ariza for Walton, but I'm not sure if it really fixes anything. We've got a bunch of small forwards who do well in spurts but aren't really suited to be consistent NBA starters.
And Java....let's just say this kid is nowhere near being ready to contribute on a regular basis and leave it at that. I like him, but damn...this isn't Venice Beach, kid.

Lesson's learned tonight
1. Kwame is not a starting center, hands are too bad to make triangle
work, no shot blocking presence............damn I miss Drew.
2. Phil needs to keep his damn mouth closed about Kobe's shots if
these guys don't want to shoot then I say Kobe should shoot every
shot if it means we win.
3. Mitch needs to call C-Webb first thing tomorrow morning.

We are a team with a #1 option and a couple 3's and the rest. We need to find that extra help in scoring to keep this balance going. When we ask our 3rd options to do too much we are risking alot. I believe when this team has its offense flowing we can play more fluid D, and that IMO opinion will allow us to win games while Bynum is out.
We just need to fill a 2nd scoring option and rebound better and we can survive.
Easier said that done, I know

No doubt and that's really why I'm not that upset about it tonight...but in the future, before games get out of hand or they really mean something, he still has to be more balanced and consistent. Take some shots. Pass some off.
