Here are the Player of the Game nominees from tonight's win over the New York Knicks...

Antawn Jamison: 32 points (FG:14/20, 3P:2/4, FT:2/2), 5 rebounds,
2 assists, 2 blocks, 1 turnover

Caron Butler: 22 points (FG:9/20, 3P:0/1, FT:4/4),
5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals, 3 turnovers

Nick Young: 12 points (FG:5/6, 3P:1/1, FT:1/1), 2 assists,
1 rebound, 1 steal, 1 block, 3 turnovers

Brendan Haywood: 11 points (FG:5/5, FT:1/2), 8 rebounds, 2 steals, 4 turnovers

Roger Mason Jr.: 10 points (FG:4/7, 3P:2/4), 3 assists,
3 rebounds, 1 steal, 1 turnover

Meh...I missed the game. But judging by the box-score it has to be Antawn.

I could be way off in not crediting butler, but I like the number for both Young and Pecherov so they would be my 2nd and 3rd. Man, Pecherov is really really surprising me. We might be deeper than I thought.

Gentleman Jamison. But the per40 numbers on Nick and Pech are pretty insane. Nice to see Nick playing strong defense, even down low vs ZBo.

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but Jamison was a force on defense. He really poked out a bunch of balls down in the paint.

Jamison is POTG easily.

Butler is 2nd, easily.

I think I'll give 3rd place to Nick Young. He helped us stay in the game in the 2nd quarter when nobody else could score.

Without sounding too much like Hands, this is something I have noticed and posted a few times about. Jamison has been really giving effort on D. He is using his hands a lot more and deflecting balls.

AJ gets the nod from me too for this game.

dang, i missed another game. looks like N1 is playing well, OPec is back for good, and that either Jamison or Butler could be an easy #1 option for any team in the league.

POTG definitely goes to AJ though. 70% from the field is amazing for anyone especially Jamison who has really been struggling from the field in a few games lately.

I guess I can roll with AJ.

AJ even had a sweet block and racked up 2 block. Insane.

AJ is adding blocked shots to his defensive game. You really have to respect what he has done this year with his D. He was probably the worst starting defensive player in the league last year. He still has his weaknesses but he and the team have minimized having them exploited while exploiting AJs skills for defensive reason. Hes smart and has quick hands. AJs defensive improvements are as noticeable as Haywood improved FTs.

One good thing about this team is that its getting increasing hard to pick an MVP of a game. CB could have won it. NY was huge. OPs shots were timely. AD had a huge impact. Mason can up clutch. Haywood was effective.

Its a quality problem I can live with.

Man, I don't like the Mike Wise column today. I mean I like the part where he says CB is one of the best small forwards in the league now, that's fine, but he puts too much emphasis on the improvement in d on cb. The defensive improvement, I feel, comes from everybody. EJ letting Ayers take over a little defensive instruction, Ayers providing the instruction, players absorbing it and buying into it. It's not just cb.

I knew AJ would win so I voted for Young just because in the second quarter the Wizards looks down right awful and the Knicks were pulling away. Young stepped up, and dropped 12 points in a hurry. He provided exactly what the team needed in the worst way.

I love seeing New York lose. Good job Wiz.

Jamison should get some serious all star consideration. Him and Butler have really been kicking ass this season.

i am loving nick young, opec is going to be an awesome rebounder, blatche shut down randolph, nick young setting up that 3 pter for mason...on the post up wow, jamison roasting randolph with the jay all day and serving Lee with left hand scoop, Mason was deadly..he is almost like arenas..bubble first rounder. This team has the potential to be a great dynasty if we can figure out a way to keep both jamison and arenas with the cap room we have.

Finally got around to watching the replay of the game. Not changing my order, but I have to say that Caron was as important to the team as always and Mason really hit a couple of very clutch baskets. I'm afraid there is no way we can hold on to him next year. The first half was somewhat strange - we were shooting lights out but so were they.

Nick Young was phenomenal when he came into the game, what was it ? 12 points in 5 or 6 minutes?

And I'd still give my 3rd place to Pecherov, he seems as good now as I expected him to be in perhaps two years. Huge improvement since last year I saw him play in European competitions.

Mike Wise is very dramatic. Kinda gets annoying after awhile.
