Okay, after watching the bucks this season, I really have to think their offensive plays are either too complex (ie. do not get into position soon enough) or we don't run them right / fast enough. We are consistantly getting into a late shot clock situation before we get the ball where we want it. So, this is my idea for a play, please feel free to comment on it.
On the court -
Mo-1
Redd/Bell -2
Simmons - 3
Yi-CV-4
Bogut - 5
Goal - Get the ball to Bogut in the post and let him put the ball in the hole or make a good pass.
Shot Clock - 24 seconds.
Step 1-
1 Brings ball up the floor to top of key or so. 2 goes to left wing, 3 to right. 4 Goes to Left Block. 5 Goes to Right Block. Max 10 seconds, 7 second target - 17 seconds on shot clock.
Step 2-
1 passes ball to 2 on left wing. 1 then cuts between 4 and 2 with a backpick from 4. (IF open, 2 passes ball to 1 layup, if not, 1 clears through baseline to Right corner. 1 - 2 seconds max. 15 seconds left on the clock.
Step 3-
After 1 cuts, 2 dribbles to between left corner and wing (below free throw line, where a post pass is supposed to come.) At the same 4 turns and sets a pick for 5 on the far side of the lane. 5 comes hard through the lane, sets up post position as near to the basket as possible. (does not have to come all the way out if can get position under the hoop). 2 passes to 5. If 5 has position, he scores, if he had to come all the way out to the block, go to step 4. 1 - 3 seconds. 12 - 13 seconds left on the clock, ball is in the post.
Step 4 -
2 cuts baseline around 5 to give room. 2 can recieve pass for layup, if not, cuts all the way to the corner previously occupied by 1. 3 and 4 set screen for 1 to cut to top of the key. (Redd is our best shooter from the corner, Mo the best from strait out.) (This is a complicated step, 3 and 4 both set a pick for 1, then 3 (who is higher out, remember 4 just set side screen for 5) cuts off of 4 to go the hoop. 4 cuts out to elbow area on the wing (two point land, YI).
Status, With 10 secons or slightly more or less, we have Bogut on the block with the ball, Redd in the corner, possible open from his man trying to double. Mo cutting to the top of the key after getting a double screen. Simmons cutting to the hoop for a lay-up, or rebound possible. Yi popping out to wing after setting screens for Bogut, Mo, then Simmons. Yi is ready to crash if anything is put up. Mo and Yi are ready to get back on D. Bogut has plenty of time to Repost with Mo if necessary (Mo continues over to the wing). Or Bogs can take a good shot or pass it out.
7 seconds left. If Bogut not in position to score, He passes back to Mo. Comes out for a mid pick and role (between the elbow and 3 point line). I know I don't have to describe how it works then.
Well, what do you think? realistic? effective? Do you think they could figure out how to run it?

I like it a lot. That is exactly the type of offense I envision us running. Good work!
You seem to have a keen interest in the X's and O's. Here is an interesting website (link) dedicated to just that.

The Bucks should watch hours of Arvydas Sabonis tape and figure out a way for Bogut to get the ball in the low post with enough room to consistently find cutters for easy baskets. Now that Bogut is drawing double teams, he really has the ability to start cranking out some triple doubles if we use him as a facilitator from the low block. He would have droped about 10 dimes on Tuesday if guys were making shots.

This...is my dream. Cutters, and guys that can shoot from the outside. Bogut the dominant center who can make point guard like passes. A top 5 offense and top 15 defense can get us to the finals.
