Coming to chicago for the nuggets game, Go Nuggets, anyway what are some things/places to check out that night and the day after? Thanks!

yeah, i thought about that after i typed it and seen the people viewing it and not replying, but who cares, n e way im from ohio so idk of anything there, but ill have to check it out, are any of u going to it?

I'm not from Chicago myself, there are plenty of people on this board who will give you some great advice though.

Eat at a sit-down restaurant for all of your meals. Chicago has some of the best food in the world.

Some of my favorites:

Lou Malnati's Pizza
Nuevo Leon Mexican
Fogo Di Ciao Brazilian
and also check out Greektown

Of course for sightseeing just go downtown to the Mag Mile, Sears Tower, Millennium Park, and Navy Pier

Go to Pequods, on clybourn and webster, THAT is the best pizza you'll ever have!

And in January your options are limited, but go check out the museums, art, history, science and industry. All very cool.

I'm a Pizzaria Uno guy.

But I would suggest you dig around this forum. There are a number of similar threads for people visiting Chicago with dozens of restaurant/bar/museum/nightclub etc. information.

If your looking for entertainment during the day, the most popular places are:

Sears Tower
Field Museum
Shedd Aquarium
Navy Pier
Museum of Science and Industry

It's pretty cold to do anything outside but if you want to try out great pizza, Lou Malnatis, Pizzeria Uno and Home Run Inn Pizza are good starts.

If you're into bar hopping, Division and Clark is a good place to start.

I just got back from my chicago trip and I have to say i loved chicago...but the pizza at UNO and Gio was horrible. If you guys really wanna eat some good pizza you have to come over to europe.

Giordanos and Pizzaria Uno are **** horrible tourist trash pizzas! never ever eat there! The only people that think it is any good are suburbanites that don't live in the city!

The best thing about Chicago is its neighborhoods. If you leave downtown you'll get a better feel for the city. If you're looking for some nightlife after the game (and are over 21) you can take a 5 minute cab ride straight North on Damen Ave from the United Center until you get to the 6 corner intersection of North, Milwaukee and Damen. There are a ton of bars, restaurants and clubs within a 2 block radius. It will be packed on a Friday night but you can find anything from dive bars to clubs you'll have to wait an hour to get into.

I think Lou Malnati's is an acquired taste. I personally hate their pizza even though I live right by them.

I'd disregard this. Uno's is my favorite and I've lived in the Chicago area most of my life, currently live in the city, and am a huge pizza fiend. I often take friends from out of town there and have never received anything short of glowing reviews. Because it's a chain and a tourist magnet, locals like to hate on it, but the quality of the food is generally outstanding.

As mentioned earlier there are less options in the dead cold, but there are always places to go. I recommend going to the Field Museum right on the lake. I haven't been to the Art museum or Planetarium in years myself, I don't know how different they are. But they were worth it then.

Navy Pier always has fun stuff going on. And unfortunately the Auto Show will be over by the time you arrive in Chi Town, it keeps getting bigger and better imo. But huge crowds.

There are all kinds of shops/restaurants on the Magnificent Mile aka Michigan Avenue.

Since I am such a big architecture fan my favorite thing to do is the River tour. But I bet it will be closed during that cold time. There may be a bus tour, but I've never taken it. Just enjoy the city, it's beautiful. The world's best kept secret.
