Kwame Or Dampier... Who would you rather have?

Post#1 » by Chubby Chaser » Tue Jan 29, 2008 7:17 pm

After contemplating how ridiculous it is that a 6'11 professional NBA center can't accomplish the basic requirements of rebounding, catching the ball, and dunking the ball when wide open. I went through a list of centers in my head, and was wondering, who would you rather have on this team playing center other than Kwame Brown? (Ignoring salary) This one popped into my head and I couldn't help go back and forth...

So, Kwame or as shaq quoted, (I'm playing like eric mothherf**kin Dampier) ??

Here's their avg stats this year

Kwame Brown

Pts Reb Ast Bpg
5.7 5.4 1.3 .7

Eric Dampier

Pts Reb Ast Bpg
5.4 6.9 0.8 1.4

Kwame's so bad, I'd rather Phil experiment with starting Dj Mbenga. He can't do any worse. And at least he'll block some shots in the paint

Kwame needs to hang out with the Laker girls and find out where they get their hair and nails done .

He doesnt deserve to sit on the Lakers bench , since only real basketball players sit on the bench , not an over grown sensetive child that gets paid 9mil a year who cant even make layups .

Dampier without question. He's probablty on the same level as kwame as a man to man defenders but that's only a guess. but Dampier blocks shots and grabs boards when he gets the minutes so i'd rather ahve Dampier.

Dampier is better. Kwame is the other teams best player.
The funny thing is for Dallas and the Lakers to get these guys they gave up Nash and Butler.

Kwame is younger, so for the long run id choose Brown, but if it was a short term thing, Id choose Dampier.

Dampier would average 13 and 10 with 2 blocks if he had Phil playing him fulltime and Kobe feeding him the ball like Kwame has. Dampier is not a cancer like Kwame.

Do you know what the term "Cancer" is as it pertains to teams?

Yes Phil I do know. Kwame goes down we go on a huge run, Kwame comes back and we suck. Now I know most of that is Bynum going down but when Phil puts Ronny in for Kwame we always do better. If you look at that stat - and + when the players are in the game Kwame is always in the minus. He is a cancer. He might not cause problems in the looker room or off the court but on the court he is the opposing teams best player. I know it, Steven A Smith knows it Bill Walton knows it and so does everybdoy but apperently the only guys who don't know this are guys named Phil and a few people on realgm.com/lakers.

A cancer is a term used to describe his being be a distraction, disruption and a not liked by his teamates. By all accounts he is very well liked by his teamates. He might be a bad basketball player but he is not a cancer as you say. So atleast use the correct term.
Also, there is not one person who thinks Kwame is "good" Phil included. The part you dont understand that we dont have any size so for better or worse we are stuck with Kwame, for now.

I will feel really bad for Kwame if he does not get picked up nest year. Most of you said you would start or want DJ to play more minutes than Kwame.

And if DJ was out of the league until the Laker picked him up, what will happen to Kwame??
