Den/Tor/NJ

Post#1 » by atown hawks » Fri Feb 1, 2008 5:44 pm

Heres my idea:

Den trades: Marcus Camby, JR Smith, Najera (exp), 1st rnd pick
Den aquire: Jason Kidd, Malik Allen

Tor trades: Andrea Bargnani, Rasho Nesterovic (exp)
Tor aquire: Marcus Camby

NJ trades: Jason Kidd, Malik Allen
NJ aquire: Bargnani, JR Smith, R.Nesterovic (exp), Najera (exp), 1st rnd pick

Then i think we should look at signing C Lance Allred from the D-leagues Idaho Stampede. He averages 17.6 pts and 10 rebs in only 29 min of action. He can be a nice backup big for us.

Our new line-up:
Kidd/Carter/Atkins
Iverson/Diawara/Wafer
Melo/Kleiza
KMart/M.Allen/Kleiza
Hunter/Allred

What do you guys think of this deal? Can you see my deal being accepted by all teams? Thanks..

Do we even know if Hunter can hold down that starting position yet? He hasn't even earned backup minutes yet.

Granted, here's Kidd, but you send away your best big man after having sent away your best pg a year earlier for AI....it's just moving pieces around.

If Hunter's a solid big man and Melo and K-Mart can dominate the glass, it might not be a bad idea....but it's gambling at this point.

So why do we give up our starting center?

I dunno, its filling one hole but creating another.

I think Kidd/AI/Melo sounds great, but if we have nobody in the front court, were really nothing more then the Nets of the West.

Not to mention our salary next year would be astronomical, with THREE max contracts, plus K-mart who is basically a max contract and Nene who will be making close to 9 next year. Thats just too much money to spend on five guys, what if one of them gets hurt (not that that would ever happen to the Nuggets)?

I think this is actually one of the better trades I've seen as for all the Kidd to Denver trade talks go. If we want Kidd were gonna have to get rid of Camby, theres no getting around it.

I'd rather see if NJ would trhow in Sean Williams instead of Malik Allen, cuz then I think its a no-brainer that we'd accept, not sure if NJ would though.

Also if were gonna do a Camby trade, keeping our 1st round pick is pretty key because, this draft does have some late talented big men

Why bother with that trade?

Yeah you get Jason Kidd but the team as a whole gets shallower, older, weaker in the front court and still unable to beat the Spurs or Suns.

NJ trades: Jason Kidd, Malik Allen
NJ aquire: Bargnani, JR Smith, R.Nesterovic (exp), Najera (exp), 1st rnd pick

Nesterovic is not expiring, he has a player option for another year, which he would be stupid to not take.

we would lose our starting Center, but we would also gain an actual game manager who controls the offense, I think Kidd would be a lot more valuable to the Nuggets then what camby is doing now. Im not hating on camby hes been great this year, but Jason Kidd a HOF PG who knows how to play the game...our offense wouldnt looked lost every time down.

From Toronto, I can say we wouldn't do this trade for two reasons. We have done the Marcus Camby thing already. Spare us the re-run. We missed his best years on the front end, and aren't trading for his declining years on the back end.

And we've gifted New Jersey, a division rival, once in this millennium. It won't happen twice.
