I disagree. With Bynum in the middle, they have handled all of these teams well this season. This team is stacked.

None of those teams have the players needed to stop both Bynum and Gasol AND Kobe and Odom.

Here's a lesson in front office culture and pressure to win.

The Lakers always want to get it done and compete and go for it.

It's like looking at the people who want to lose weight and diet and then looking at people who get their asses out of bed at 5:30 AM and get to the Y and start running.

There are some people and attitudes that mean business. The Lakers as a mindset are in that group.

We're in the group and mindset of the fat housewife who wants to lose weight by drinking a fad diet shake and makes excuses or "wants to."

Memphis has also traded Stromile Swift to the Nets for Jason Collins.

Also today, a Grizzlies source said that forward Stromile Swift has been traded to the New Jersey Nets for center Jason Collins.

[b]The Grizzlies and Nets have been discussing a deal for the past week, and it is expected to be finalized on Monday.

To that end, Swift had a meeting with Griz coach Marc Iavaroni and general manager Chris Wallace Friday, was sent home and did not practice with the team. Swift will not play in Saturday's game against Utah at FedExForum.

The Lakers also dealt the rights to Marc Gasol and the Lakers received a second round pick. The Lakers also dealt the retired Aaron Mckie.

I love how some people on the lakers board are saying..."that's what being patient gets you". What the hell are we gonna get here in Milwaukee then. We have been stuck in mediocrity for years. Apparently we are in line for the second coming of Michael Jordan if thats the case.

Not much left but a bunch of G's plus Hakim Warrick (Harris has long been a fan), Brian Cardinal (yuck), Darko (has hasn't been playing well I don't think) and.. that's about it.

Maybe Conley and Darko for something? :dontknow:

Since they are going into full fire sale mode.

The Bucks aren't being patient. The Bucks organization thinks they're just fine and aren't even lurking around the water, let alone jumping in like the Lakers just did.

i think it's too quick to judge who got the better of this deal. sure on paper it looks like it favors the lakers. but kwame brown, even thought he never lived up to the expectations coming out of high school actually was starting to "come on." the last few games or so. Scoring is really not the lakers' problem anways. so adding gasol gives them scorers with odom, bryant, now gasol, bynum, and so on. gasol is just gonna take from the other guys scoring tho and their defense still needs some help.

i think they were better off just keeping brown to see if he improves and if he didn't, they should have traded for a guy like camby, haslem, or whatever. i think what the lakers needed was a PG and a PF who can score some but doesn't to be a focal point on offense and can bring toughness and muscle. so in opinion i see the lakers might of gotten a bit more on offense but not enough to get the lakers over the hump. the lakers GM i think blew it here. the grizzles even tho most say improved a bit for the future but lost in this deal.....i tend to disgree with that and am gonna say the grizzles got the better in this deal just by getting a young pg like crittendon to go along with conley and give them depth in case something fails....and brown should get better in memphis, and two future 1st round picks sealed the deal.
