They need an award for worst executives/owner; the Suns would have won three straight years.

No it means that there are still internal discussions in PHX about whether it's a good deal or not. That's what the guy said.

Shaq can defend on Duncan and Gasol ? they will run around him, pass between his legs or shot in his face ...

This trade proposal is making my head hurt.

I think there's a lot of information that hasn't been disclosed yet, like the true state of Shaq's health. If he's in better shape that we know, that makes a huge difference. If not, .......there goes my headache again.

Why would the Bobcats trade Okafor for Marion when G.Wallace does the same stuff? It makes no sense for the Bobcats.

2 sides of the coin:

Miami:::
if riley pulls this deal off, This will be an amazing deal for a player not motivated in his current situation(shaq) on a team going nowehere, destined for a high lottery pick. in return he's getting a bonified all-star who may or not resign....regardless if marion does leave, this years free agency market is probably the best in past 5 years, so the heat will have tons of cap space to go after another all-star player. and who would'nt want to play with D-wade and the top draft pick in a new look heat team. Riley is a genius if he pulls this deal off!

Suns:
Don't underestimate the value of Shaq. when he wants to be, Shaq is top 5 most dominant big men of all time. though his age is up there, that doesn't mean he cant motivate himself to get back and ready for a strong playoff push and lead the suns to an NBA championship.

Yes he is old, but shaq is quite possibly the x-factor for pheonix winning a finals. the big strong force inside.

and dont underestimate steve nash. he knows how to win, and what is needed to win....he will turn shaq into the 2006 version with wade, if not better. Plus marion will opt out this year so this might be the best value out tehre in terms of putting your team over the top.

plus, shaq is going through a nasty divorce right now, dont you think him going to pheonix will rejuvinate him to take out his revenge on every team in the league who thinks he's done?? don't doubt the heart of a warrior, and shaq is one. though lazy at times, when he turns it on you better run for cover because he can still get it done.

Oh no -- somebody in the PHX front office is actually THINKING?

Dangit, make 'em stop! They need to complete this trade and make the West a little easier for the rest of us. Please God, make it happen....

I think a lot of people are forgetting how Shawn Marion stepped up 2 years ago when Amare was out for the season, and averaged 22/12 while Phoenix went to the WCF. Sure Marion's having a down year averaging 16/10 this season, but will Shaq really be enough to launch Phoenix to the top?

so basically what this amounts to is the suns reluctance to appease Marion.

He threatens to opt out unless they offer him a worthy extension.

PHX is like wtf are you drunk... we are not going to pay you $20 mil a year.

Marion then says trade me or I'll opt out.

PHX says goodbye.. heres a first class ticket to MIA

Great trade for the Heat and bad for the Suns. I don't get it. Shaq doesn't fit their system, is often hurt now a days, and they get rid of one of their best players who fits their system perfectly. This is not the same shaq that was in LA or the heat a few years ago. Also, Marion isn't really having a down year. He's playing great. His averages are down because hill is there now, amare is finally back to full form, and Diaw is playing well.

once again the reason they are tradin Marion now is because they are sick of him.

Hes demanded out via trade or will opt in the summer. Why keep that baggage around dictating his terms to you when you in no way plan to spend anywhere close to 20 mil a season on him

odom basically equals or is less then marion as far as on court production and presence.(laterral)

I guess PHX was looking for trading partners and would rather aquire a player with size so they can put Amare back at the 4.

I dont think there were other Centers availible, especially at that price tag.
