Reggie Evans for Joey Graham

Post#1 » by landen » Tue Feb 12, 2008 9:19 pm

Reggie and a 2nd for Joey G and Dixon. (Dixon needed to even the salaries, the 2nd needed to even the deal).

This deal is so obvious it needs to happen already.

The only reason the Sixers do this trade is to clear cap space. And they would probably look for a deal that clears more thn 2.5 million.

So no, it is not that "obvious"

The 76'ers would clear Evans' entire salary, not just $2.5 million.

It actually is obvious for Philly, but I don't understand it for Toronto. Don't they need a SF above all?

Toronto should jump at this just as quickly as Philly.

They need rebounding and toughness, and already have guys like Moon, Kapono, and Delfino capable of manning the 3.

Calderon/Ford
Parker/Delfino
Moon/Kapono
Bosh/Evans
Bargnani/Humphries/Nesterovic

No we have enough swingman. We need a bruiser we can put in that can actually secure a rebound in the final two minutes of a game.

Sixers pass.

The very last thing we need right now is another SF wingman.

Not to mention, Graham can't shoot threes and his game is lacking.

And you want a draft pick?

Look elsewhere.

Uh, the value to Philly in this deal is not at all what you get in return on the court this year. It's in clearing enough salary cap space that you could actually sign a major free agent if you wanted to. Doing this deal helps you get to that range.

Philly passes. Have enough wing men. Evans is becoming one of the heartbeats of this team. He's the reason they lead the league in offensive rebounds.

creo has it right. Evans brings it every night & is a good bench player. He would only be moved for cap relief & I don't see much point in that. Philly has no use for Graham or Dixon. Sixers pass easily.

The 6ers have no reason to do this. Evans brings a lot to the table for Philly and has definitely become one of their top big men.
