Hell no he isnt. If he was a Laker at heart, he'd let this trade continue because the Mavs would be giving up more than they receive. They are deteriorating their team by trading key parts of their team in Devin, Stack, and Diop.

SCREW YOU GEORGE!! WE COULD'VE SIGNED STACKHOUSE YOU GRIMEY ASS!!!

stackhouse was going back to dallas... he wasnt going to sign with lakers...

but on a side note i think dallas might get screwed on this trade... i have a feeling new jersey isn't the one who will give into a trade they dont want.

Trade Sasha before he ruins the Lakers next season.

if he did go back to dallas he'd have to wait 30 days then sign and be ineligible for the playoffs.

negative. The rule is , if he is waived AFTER March 1 then he is not eligible.

"It would have been done tonight if not for [George]," said one team official involved in assembling what looked to be the NBA's third blockbuster deal this month."

i wonder what word that official used really

The Mavericks thus went from making tentative plans to have Kidd join them in Phoenix for Thursday's showdown against the rival Suns to starting George in Wednesday's home game against Portland. George responded by shooting 0-for-11 from the floor in 33 minutes in Dallas' 96-76 victory.

this is horrible for the lakers. the trade must go thru.

if this trade goes through, dallas gets much older, they also lose depth & the same two first picks the lakers gave up for gasol. we can handle a shallow small ball team with kidd and the mavs mortgage their future. this is a great deal for the lakers to see happen

Agreed. I think it will still happen.

They'll find a way to make this work.
They'll either convince DG to agree to the trade or restructure it with another player.
JKidd will play for the Mavs.

Wow, Devean. And to think so many people on the Nets and Mavs said parting words. Woops.

I don't know, I think we can handle the Mavs as they stand. With Kidd on their team? I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss it. Sure, Kidd is a short term solution for Dallas, but they're trying to win now.

Anybody can see his impact on a talented team that's committed to winning. Team USA is a clear example of it. The Nets are struggling, but that's something Vince Carter needs to man up to, as well as the lack of decent frontcourt help.

Kidd is going to bring the best out of Dirk, no doubt, and Howard, and Terry, and if Stack comes back, add him to the list of guys who'll see a lot of easy baskets.

Harris was the future, but there's no guarantee the future will be any better than the present, especially considering the present is Jason Kidd. A great gamble, and I welcome the exciting challenge.

The only guys left are Jermaine O'Neal and Kirilenko. The Jazz should do it.

And this will be considered one of the greatest eras of basketball.

Short term Kidd>>>anything on their bench. I don't know... but I think Kidd adds a sort of toughness that they wouldn't have without him. Dallas as is, never ever scared me, even when we were basically a Kobe team. I always thought we could take that team, and what happened? An 8th seed embarrasses them. That team was good at one thing, and it was beating San Antonio. Now with Kidd? They can beat anyone. I rather Kidd stay in the eastern conference as a Laker fan, but teams are making a contender push right now.

Didn't they have an HOF PG in Nash? Lol! Granted that Nash was not the Nash that we know but it's not like he added something new to his game to become a two time MVP.

It will work - but not anything better than Nash-Dirk Mavs.

With Kidd going to Dallas, Dallas gains the leadership that all teams want. It was something Dirk couldnt provide in the playoffs and Howard hasnt used. Dirk and Howard are great scorers and Howard the better defender, with Kidd dishing the ball there will be more fastbreak points for them. However, they will be depleting there bench which was holding them down if they were to make the playoffs. They better hope that injuries dont hurt them in the playoffs. AS a Laker fan i am accepting the challenge to go up against them, i feel we have a great shot against any team. We do lack Playoff experience besides Dfish, Kobe, (LO and Gasol-havent made a huge push in many playoffs, just yet). Our teams chemistry is there and our bench is deep. Once we are healthy we can match up with any team, and I am pretty sure we are all up for the challenge whether Dallas gets kidd or the big diesel with teh suns, or Duncan and the spurs. GO Lakers!!!!

wow I can't believe it... it's like our ex-players are trying to help us.

Shaq going to Phoenix is gonna mess up their offense. George blocks a trade that would have given them tripple-double threat Kidd? it's like the stars are lining up for the Lakers to get to the Finals!!!!

Regardless I am sure George will agree and be traded and Dallas will have their dream. Or another player is put as a replacement, and jones has stated that he does not want to be traded.

Look how dominant the west has turned out, hmmm....Celtics and Pistons are great teams, but i wonder how they will do against the western teams in a 7 game series??? sounds like fun. cannot wait for the playoffs.
