OT: Bibby to Hawks

Post#1 » by FNQ » Sat Feb 16, 2008 9:50 pm

For Shelden Williams, L. Wright, A. Johnson, Tyronn Lue.

Not bad for ATL.... AJ is the most valuable of that group. First Shelden Williams v. Andris Biedrins on the PC board estimated for March.

Didn't want to re-edit Hop's edit :D

But its nearly midnight and Ron Artest is still at the ball... I'd love for the Kings to hang on to him and not get a thing for him, for when he finally turns into a pumpkin

This is clearly a case of a team holding on to their stars way too long... the once formidable team of:

Bibby / Christie / Peja / Webber / Miller / Jax

has become

Shelden Williams, Tyronn Lue, Lorenzen Wright, Anthony Johnson, Ron Artest (likely to get nothing in return), Kenny Thomas, Brian Skinner, Cuttino Mobley, Bonzi Wells.

It's worth nothing that Brian Skinner eventually became Sergei Monia / Vitaly Potapenko, while Mobley and Wells walked away in free agency.

The dangers of the "wait-n-see" approach :o

If the Kings are finally rebuilding, we need to trade the TE and a 1st round pick for Ron Artest.

Sac wants Ellis and a first, too.
Miller and Artest are championship caliber.

Especially since Phoenix has their #1 (JJohnson trade)

I hope Hawks make playoffs!

I switched him to Wells in that last part ;)

This is a good deal for the Warriors.

1. For this season, it gets the best player in the trade out of the Pacific Division. While the Kings have played with some momentum for a few weeks since getting all their injured players back, they should slip back some now without Bibby and perhaps Artest and/or Miller too if the Kings go into full rebuilding mode.

2. Since Bibby's contract runs through 2009, Atlanta will have less cap space availble to possibly use on a Warrior Free Agent like AB or Monta. Atlanta's not that far from Mississippi. If only Memphis would add some salary now - not gonna happen.

Hawks only needed a pg. It'll be nice.... You have Nellie's ideal lineup out there on that team... cept JJ is handicap.

Shelden Williams is a bust like no other... or i should say other including...

JJ redick

I'm really happy that Atlanta finally has a solid team after a decade of horrible moves/drafts. I'm sure we can all relate to that.

Say what you will, ATL got better but by how much? This is still mainly a perimeter based team...

They look a lot better than a lot of the Eastern teams though. Out west... maybe on par with us... maybe..

Now the Kings need to trade Brad Miller if they really want some serious capspace this summer. Nobody is gonna want SARs, Mikki Moore, or KThomas.

Also on Saturday, the Kings requested waivers on forward Justin Williams and guard Dahntay Jones.

How about Justin Williams?
