Sixerfan- can you tell us where the team is with regards to Iguodala and Youngs positions?
Do we really see Young at PF and Dala at SF moving forward- or are we just buying time until Young handle/jumper is SF ready and we find a good PF?
This effects our future needs. If Iguodala is moved to SG then we are fine with Lou and Green at back-ups. If Iguodala stays at SF then we are thin at the SG position, and I would want to hold onto Carney for now.
Also, have the Sixers given up hope for Lou become i starting PG in a couple of years?

Denver gets too little. Sac gets too much. They cant get Kleiza AND Nene AND dump KT.
I bet denver could convince philly to do miller for nene kleiza and the 1st so why would they want to add in a najera for kenny thomas swap?
Garcia doesnt do too much for philly if they are getting artest. And if the sixers are getting artest, itll be to make a push, in other words, miller wont be included

SendEm, Dallas overpayed before, but not anymore since now they get to keep stackhouse.
Kidd
Stack
Howard
Dirk
Dampier
Is much better than how they would have looked with hassel. They still need a backup big pretty bad tho. Once they get depth their, they got a shot, but otherwise, they arnt a top 5 team.

Stack was never going to actually play for the Nets. The Nets were going to buy Stackhouse out then 30 days latter he could resign with Dallas.
I also heard last week that Jason Terry is going to start with Kidd in the backcourt.

Why for New York: They've been dying to get rid of Curry/Randolph, in this 3-team ordeal, they don't take back any majorly bad contracts and get 2 talented players, one of which has played alot better(on a bad team so take it with a grain of salt)
Why for Sacramento: In a similar ordeal to New York, Sacramento has ideally wanted to get rid of Ron Artest. This deal provides Sacramento with an extreme amount of talent along with expiring deals.
Why for Philadelphia: For little or no cost, they've acquired one of the best defensive swingmen to play in the NBA in quite a while. He's also a noteworthy 20 PPG scorer.
Reasons for the deal not to go down:
-New York realizes it's helping a divisional rival rebulid, but seeing as no one will take Curry/Randolph, they also realize they have no choice XD.

Harris, Ager, Hassell, KVH, Diop, 2 first round picks, $3MIL in cash
OR
Andre Miller, Joe Smith, 2 first round draft picks??
This is why Billy King was fired. A 34 year old Jason Kidd apparently has more value than a 31 year Allen Iverson.
Sigh. You're right, and it sucks. I like Miller and I'm glad he's playing so well but I still firmly believe we should have gotten a lot more for AI.

THe key missing piece of the AI trade was a young prospect. That's a HUGE piece to be missing.
The Nets are getting Harris back, the Wolves got Jefferson back in the KG deal, and even the Grizzlies got a prospect in Crittenton (not on the same level as the other two) for Gasol and the Gasol deal sucked.
Ed Snider didn't help Billy out at all by talking to ESPN but Iverson should have been traded before that season even started. Sometimes it hurts to be a Sixer fan.

The only time Iverson would have brought anything really good back to us was right after our Finals run. Outside of that, his career here was always mired in some sort of turmoil, hence, his value was always lower than it should have been. It's really a shame it worked out that way. Had Iverson had a better attitude and cut out the off-court drama, I'm guessing that we would have gotten a major package for him - hell, he'd probably still be here.

Wait... what about the summer of '06 (the summer before he got dealt)???? The reports were that we could have sent him to Boston for Jefferson, the #7 pick (Brandan Roy), and filler (Theo Ratliff, Ryan Gomes) but we backed out since we didn't want to send him within the division.
That trade would have been a win-win for us. We would have gotten a better trade package for Iverson and Boston wouldn't have had the assets to go get Garnett this past summer.

Well, Thomas wouldn't be a bad backup to Sam. He's listed as a PF but I always thought he was a 5. Could he start at the 4 next to Sam? While I'm not infatuated with picking up a 36 year old player, he does fit a glaring need we have in terms of our lack of depth at the 5 and provides veteran leadership. If Thomas replaces Booth on our roster, I'm all for it. But I like the idea of developing youth more and wouldn't want his acquisition to cut down on Jason Smith's minutes.

I thought that Jefferson deal was never in the works because Boston didn't want to part with him.
