I can flow with that, i just find it incredibly hard to believe that we gave him the max just cause we felt like it, we had a lot of cap space, and we needed a player like this. There had to have been other teams interested in him and thats why we gave him that deal to assure him we meant business. And your right his agent is a genius. I mean i could be wrong but it makes sense that there would be other teams looking at him which made us want to make sure noone else gets him.

I don't think anyone comes here to create bad vibes though -- unless they're not a fan of this team of course. Sometimes people just get frustrated with the direction this team has been going since Shaq left and managements obvious ineptitude.

I think the principle is that you don't give up everything in order to get what you want.
Hell, this is what they preach to ladies about "giving up everything" when a man says "I love you."
Similarly, if you want a big screen HDTV and you have a good amount of money, but cannot afford a 72-inch without some ill effects happening (i.e. not being able to buy HD service for your new TV) you downgrade to the 60-inch in order to avoid those ill effects later.
In this case, if we didn't believe we couldn't get Lewis for a fair price, maybe we should've migrated to that 60-inch HDTV named Gerald Wallace who got a deal half the size of Lewis.

heres where i dont agree with you... how can you point out he has good points when just as there is no way to prove my argument 100% there is no way for him to do the same. it has become merely a choice of opinion. And more than that i dont think his main goal is to prove a point, i do believe it is to create bad vibes he wants to anger me but this fantastic basketball game im watching wont let that happen

No point in having a franchise if its aim is not to win a title. Whats in the water in Orlando? Fitting though. Otis was yawning too. fell right asleep at the wheel.
This reminds me of Malone and Stockton's Utah Jazz. They had a great team. WAY Better than ours and they got trapped without being able to improve. At this rate its not too hard to see Miami being in position with Wade, Marion and a very high lottery pick to go to the big dance again before Orlando. They have more cap flexibility too. What else would be new. Yawn.

I dont think wallace was as available as lewis, i think bobcats got on him with their deal a lot quicker, and while i wouldve loved to have him, he doesnt wouldnt accent the team like rashard does. i garuntee you hedo wouldnt be having this kinda season with wallace here. for that matter neither would dwight. shard was exactly what we needed.... then battie got hurt.

Good one. I wouldn't automatically include yourself in that comment. You've come a long way from your old days, lol. Don't be so paranoid.

If we added Wallace plus some extra money to lure him away from the Bobcats we would've had enough room to resign Darko (ugh) or sign someone else like Kapono, or whomever was available for a similar deal.

Who can you offer in a trade to get better. This team only has 8 signed players for next year. Your making your bet on the MLE? Historical the MLE is garbage. Almost a waste. I read somewhere that Hedo was the second most successful player ever signed with the MLE. Billups being the only impact player ever signed with the MLE.
didnt we get Hedo with the MLE?

No genius. He said he had proof and I responded that he didn't. the issue is the proof. Does the fact that he doesn't have the proof make it more likely that it is true? Now both you and he are running for each other but still falling behind. Keep up.
Present the evidence of any other team wanting to sign Shard for the max . Since you are backing him on this then go ahead or run away. my bet is in a again. Its too easy.

No....you're not one of the people I'm thinking about right now.
And sorry about the reply on the Wilcox thing. That actually should have been directed at zuppafly, I guess.
I disagree that there aren't people here just to create bad vibes, though. Because there are some people who only come here to post when they can laud some bad news over the Magic or when there has been a time to make transactions and they talk about all the things the Magic could have done but just didn't because they are such idiots. If it wasn't the same people all the time, and if they ever had anything else to say, it would be another thing. But they don't.
Ric Bucher was on ESPN this morning talking about the trade deadline. He said that he heard at least 150 supposed "trades'' in the final days leading up to the deadline -- and that was first thing this morning. He said that only 6 or 7 of those rumors had any truth at all about them. And he said that sometimes people like agents and underlings of team executives do things to purposely create misinformation -- like inquire about deals or put supposed information about deals out there -- that are not true at all to try to increase interest in a certain player or to try to get teams to offer more for a player than they want to give up.
So for all ya'll who consider me a conspiracy theorist....there you go. Confirmed by a guy who reports on the league for a living. Politicians and businesses use the web all the time to put out false information to try to make their opponents look bad. Why don't you think it would happen on sports web sites, too?

DId you read his entire comment, lmfao?
He specifically mentioned that Hedo was the 2nd best MLE signing ever (not that I agree with that remark).
So yes, we did get Hedo with the MLE...though, it would've been Foyle if that didn't fall through first (whew).

I made no claim of such evidence. Just as you cannot offer evidence to the contrary. And I feel no need to "prove'' anything to you anyway. Do all the name-calling you want.

thats really funny cause i think the exact same about your argument. you have no proof that im wrong, your probably further off than i am seeing as we offered him a max deal so quick, there must have been at least rumors of someone else interested because there is no way you tell me that we signed him to the max just cause we felt like a bunch of "jolly ole lads" Can you give me your sources friend? I'm not running im sitting right on this couch watching the worst televised basketball game between Portland and Seattle. and your argument loses its power when you start assuming im scared of you logic-less argument
No there is evidence. You just have to follow what happened in Seattle. Rashard Lewis agent said he was taking the first max offer. The reality is there was only 1 team under the cap capable of giving Rashard the max. Rashard agent even let it known that he was going to Orlando first and was expecting a max offer.
Reality was that the 3 other teams under the cap Milwaukee, Charlotte, Memphis had zero interest in Rashard. There other teams interested were well over the cap meaning they couldn't offer more than 25% increase or he would become BYC. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see there no other team that can make him this offer then. That the max offer was made because Otis and the Magic knew that they were guaranteed to get Rashard if they handed him the max. Otis was played by an agent to get the guaranteed signing.

These people arent Magic fans then, they're likely masked fans of other teams. That or you're being too critical of these negative fans.
I'm offering my perspective as a "negative" poster that in the past my posts were filled with the material they were because I was/am increasingly frustrated by the team. Not because I enjoyed the fact that we were sucking and not making progress.
When I think about the idiot Weisbrod-era, it makes me want to post negative things, lol, maybe some people feel that way about the way things are going on now.
Enough psychology.

I feel your pain. Its pretty hard to have the whole board come to see what I've said about Otis. it enrages you no end so be my guest and try to take all kinds of various potshots at who and what I am to make you feel better. I dont have to argue it anymore. the consensus is not with you.
