Love the thread opener!! good luck, it's only fair gerald is out since he took arenas out, best of luck to him though! i hope he recover quick, he is a great player

???

He didn't take anyone out!! He completed a drive (which he made) and fell across Gil - who was standing there watching.

You make it sound like it Gilbert was the Karate Kid and Crash was told to sweep the leg.

I'm understandably touchy considering the guy you said "took Gilbert out" had his head knocked off his shoulders last night, spent the night in hospital and suffered some pretty serious head trauma.

Gil hurt his knee.

Relax.

Boykins is the shortest player in the NBA and therefore, is closer to the ground than any other player, yet he REFUSES to dive for loose balls.

He's had the opportunity to do so three times tonight and hasn't even looked like wanting to throw his body on the line.

That doesn't sit well with me at all.

my god, what a boring game. i was fighting to stay awake watching that.

i hear you about earl slam. he doesnt seem to be a fighter, but then again, dude is tiny and probably knows that diving on the floor among 6'5" 220 players is probably not the best idea for a guy his size, especially not during his little contract tryout.

how bad was nazr tonight? just awful. it might have been a different game if mek didnt pick up some of those fouls. mek looked on tonight.

remember when matt carroll was good?

You should be watching the Memphis Vs Tennesse game Fats. It's a real barn burner.

This has got to be the worst month in Bobcats' History.

Didn't get to watch the game, but it seems Hammer and DA didn't get much time tonight. Hammer was 3-4, how bad was he?

my comment about carroll was not really directed towards last nights game, just in general. i want the carroll of last year back.

me too, any idea why Hammer and DA got no time? They seemed too both play well the previous game and both had decent nite with very limited minutes

This game was depressing. Two teams who have both lost 9 of their last 10 play, and the Cats lose by 15. Ugh.

I think I have an answer for who the worst player in the league to get regular minutes is: Derek Anderson. And I don't even dislike the guy, he's just washed up.

Boykins has looked bad. He had trouble breaking double teams and he used to be able to dribble through an entire team. He also mssed an open three, and open threes used to be layups for him. As they pretty much have to be if you are going to contribute at 5'5".

Twiggy got another tech. I'm pretty much pissed off at him. I think you'd be better off with POB.

I hope Gerald is ok.

As long as Jeff McInnis is on the team, floppy, DA can't even be considered the worst player on the Cats. Statistically, it's not even close, sad as that is.

I mean, we're horrible. At this point I don't even want to talk about it anymore, we're just going to suck the rest of this season, and I'll hope that we catch a break in the lottery.

I have to admit I don't get the McInnis hate. Yes, he's bad. But the hate seems disproportionate. He does some things right. He hustles, he has some quickness left, and he has a decent bailout midrange runner when the offense breaks down. To me DA is much worse, because he's so broken down. I suspect the reason McInnis gets the nod as the evil one is simply the amount of playing time he gets, and at the critical PG position. If you switched the minutes for DA and McInnis I bet DA would be hated worse.

You usually have a good feel about the team Floppy but you are WAYYYYYYYYYY off on this one!!

DA played 24mpg last year - the same amount of time McMinus does this year and DA was widely respected by Bobcats fans for his play, and his leadership.

He was often our best on ball defender (sad, but true) and did some great work on Kobe and Joe Johnson to name but a few. We often play better as a team when he is on the court because he is smart, moves the ball and sees the court well enabling him to direct the other Bobcats and make sure they are in the right spot at the right time.

I was VERY skeptical when he was brought in, but I was very happy to be wrong about him and have enjoyed having him around.

He'll make a great assistant or head coach one day too.

McMinus is a liability on D, a liability on O, slow, makes hoorible decisions and does nothing to improve the team when he is on the court.

I'd love to know how many "and one's" his given away this year because he gets burnt so easily. He'd have to be leading the league.

I didn't see the team last year aside from the two GS games, so maybe DA has declined a lot physically. I do see the unselfishness and team play that you mention - as I said before, I don't dislike the guy. It's just that it's basically 5 on 4 out there at any physical component of the game - like rebounding - when he is playing.

Just for giggles I checked out the +- numbers. Last season DA was very good at over +6, so good the Cats actually won the minutes he was on the court.

This year he has been horrid at worse than -9. When you make a bad team almost 10 points worse per 48, you are not playing nba level ball.

I'm guessing his good play last season built up a reservoir of goodwill that he hasn't managed to burn through this year yet due to his limited minutes.

But he's definitely sucking out there.
