From what I witnessed in the game, Kobe had no respect for that ref. Remember he taunted him for calling the foul on him. Kobe asked the ref "where did I hit him?", the ref replied "you hit his arm" and Kobe replied "no I hit him in the chest". The same ref ejected Kobe. This of course was on an earlier call. I think though this later helped provoke the ref to eject him when Kobe really started hollering at him.

Doesn't that happen, oh, about 100 times in a given game?

Also, would he have been less mad had they been white?

Anyways, no big deal...just thought it was weird.

I don't care if they are purple. I don't like guys grabbing me period. DO YOU?

You're right, maybe he just had a beef. This kid's name is Brian Forte; he's got to be the son of veteran official Joe Forte. Perhaps Kobe thinks he got the job because of his dad and wanted to show him what's what.

At any rate, it didn't cost us the game so no big deal. Just thought it was unusual to see him so upset in such an uncompetitive game. As well as he was seeing the floor, I would have liked to have seen him stick around and set a career high for dimes.

This is Kobe you're talking about here.

I'd be quick to dismiss this as one of Kobe's strategies, but the defcon 1 red alert look on Kobe's face as he left the court, accompanied by vicious invective (also, did he throw his sleeve?), tells me that something unexpected must have happened between the two. Did he say something about Kobe's mama?

I've never seen Kobe react that way to any ref, way worse than the one that tossed his salad tonight.

We looked pretty sluggish without Kobe tonight. Everyone other than the Machine went into a shell after that incident.

This team is starting to remind me of the 1999/2000 team where every game you expect to be a win. There just flat out starting to dominate the league right now.

I do fear the Spurs and Rockets though because they have 2 experienced big man in the middle who are still in there primes. We're going to need Bynum against both of those teams.

We should expect to be better with Bynum, but there's no question that we're playing beautiful basketball with this current team. These guys are playing with and within a nice rhythm. Dominance, really.

^Its against teams we should beat though. The Suns team would have been better once they found a way to play with Shaq... if they ever do.

I would have liked another shot at the Celtics. Do the Lakers play the Pistons again? Spurs, Rockets, New Mavs, and Hornet games are ones I really like to see. If they can win against those teams, I'll be really impressed.

Nope, we ended our season series with Detroit with a 1-1 split.

Keep your eyes peeled for mid March, when we play at New Orleans, at Houston, at Dallas and at Utah in a six-day span. That will be our biggest litmus test of the season, in my opinion.

I wish it was mid April already. The only competition we have comes in the 2nd week of march where we play 4 elite teams within a 7day span.

Hmm think there will be a suspension for throwing his arm sleeve (for Kobe?).... ?

I'd guess not, but he's gotten some strange suspensions, so maybe that might factor into it. That would be a real ball buster. We simply can't afford that. Every game is so precious from here on out.
