Celtics sign P.J. Brown!?!?!?

Post#24 » by mrtcsm » Wed Feb 27, 2008 10:50 pm

IMO it was a bad job from our general manager for not getting this guy. I think he is still in shape to play the game at a high level and could be the missing piece of the puzzle for this team. :banghead:

This shouldn't be a big surprise . The Celtics are considered contenders this year , we're not . So of course a vet like PJ would go there . I don't think Otis can be blamed for this

There is people here, that will always defend Otis, for Christ sake there were some defending Brian Hill, last year, lmao!!!!!!!! :banghead:

And some will act like the Magic can't do no wrong, heh!! In the meantime, the amount of inconsistencies managing the team keep piling up, lol

This Otis hate is getting ridiculous. Otis has been courting PJ Brown for a while and PJ refused. Otis tried to get PJ, he simply choose Boston over us. PJ Brown = Magic tease. Or like Thief put it: Magic= Forrest Gump, PJ= Jenny.

He's chasing a ring, and Boston is the place to do that. Sorry, but this ones not Otis's fault.

It makes sense, but I think Otis could've done a better job to get P.J. to sign with our team. And it's not like the Magic don't have a chance at the title this year; although I like the chances the Celtics have better, I think the ring thing could've been settled in Orlando as well.

there is a thread for this...Otis didnt drop the ball here, PJ was lured out of retirement for the chance to contend...end of story...Otis had publicly gone after the guy, and he would probably be our PF (not Cook) right now had he agreed to come out of "retirement" in Nov.

if it rains tomorrow, will it be the fault of Otis?

There's only so much Otis can do to convince someone like PJ to come here. and if PJ decides he wants to sign with the best team in the league, then who can blame him??

otis: "hey pj, do you wanna play ball this year"
brown: "not to sure, i like this time off"
otis: "if you play, how about the magic"
brown: "ill keep my options open, but im not to sure about that"
otis: "ok thanks, you always been a solid player, maybe we will face you in the playoffs"
otis: "well brown didnt work out, but i stil like our team"

jkjk..otis tried and made a strong effort, just didnt work out

its obvious brown wanted to stay on the east coast, and play for a contender, and the celtics are in front of us right now...the nba is turning into a circus, players sit out 3/4 of the year and play when they want to and for whom, players get traded but then cut, sit out a few and sign with their original team, older veterans tell their team to cut them, so they can pick a contender to go to..i guess its cool when it benefits your team but no luck yet for the magic

All Otis can really do is make the offer. If the guy wants to go to the C's and chase a ring, what else can Otis do. Doesn't explain us not making a deal for a big with our expirings, but thats a different issue.

I'm more pissed off with the fact that it comes across that Otis put all his eggs in the PJ Brown basket and just went into blinkered mode and wouldn't even consider anyone else.

Now there's pretty much no one left to even just patch up our roster.
