CWeb out, does POB (or Kosta) finally get int the mix?
Kinda tired of those other two POB links, maybe they should be put to rest (at least one of them). We all know that Beans going down had a lot to do with BWright getting his shot which he has proved he merits playing time. The question I now have is this, will Nellie finally give POB or Kosta an opportunity to fill in the void if CWeb has to be out for any extended amount of time, at least until Beans return? This would seem logical to me, allthough it may not fit in with Nellilogic.

I'll tell you one thing. If we have to play Cro for more than 15 minutes a game on a regular basis he won't make it through the season. His back problems are still there and are not going away. He better find a way to get one of our bigs in there otherwise we're going to really be hurt by it at some point imo.

I can't say as I have a big problem with more Cro. Not 20mpg, but a consistent role? He's been pretty good when not playing in the garbagetime units. He is certainly playing with energy and aggression except for that one injury comeback game.
If Brandan and Cro play equal minutes the rest of the way, I'd have a hard time finding fault with that.

Croshere plays well when hes not asked to protect the rim or go out to the perimeter... an average back to the basket offensive player he can guard. No help defense either.
But he still guards a pick n roll better than any healthy PF/C we have not named Wright...
Kosta will probably log time over OBryant, why give POB minutes? Kosta can show good energy at times. We don't really have any difficult opponents coming up, if Kosta just boxes out he may be worth 10 mpg.
Still, common sense dictates that it should be POB.

nellie gave kosta credit for milwaukee win
And never gave him another minute and then shipped his a$$ out. Typical Nellie. I see a Barntrus on the horizon.

I wonder if Nellie gave Kosta a choice.
Id imagine Kosta could refuse... I think any rookie has the ability to decline going to the D-League without it hurting their contract at all.
The timing is the weirdest part. Ok, Beans and Webber are down... lets ship our reserve big body to the D-League now.
And thats no advocation for Kosta PT, but I'd sure rather see Kosta at the 5 than Barntrus at the 4.
If Biedrins comes back and we still run smallball half the time, I give up on this season... whats the point? Nellie obviously hasn't learned that this team is actually more efficient when playing traditional style... #s prove it, the way we played the Celts was amazing... it fit our players so much better. Ball movement / inside-outside / Monta in charge.
That will answer the question for me finally... is Nellie here to win, or is Nellie here to win with his gimmick?

How 'bout Webber is out,
Cro can play occaisionally but try every game and we lose him for good,
Barnes can't log heavy minutes that many games,
Al is Nellies 6th man,
and POB & Nellie are the NBA's worst marriage of player to coach.
Perovic is getting into playing condition because Nellie wanted to try everything else first and now necessity is here. SJax needs time off and that pulls the smalls to more traditional roles. BeWright is progressing and should continue nicely if the Dub's don't lean on him too heavily. I still say it is best to spot him into situations where he can be successful.
AB's return should give the Dubs a nice lift and a couple weeks after Perovic should be ready to give 15-20 minutes per game. I hope Perovic can be "The Trailer" for us, just following our smalls, and grabbing offensive rebounds of the many Dub's bricks for 2nd and 3rd chances.
I'm hoping for a rookie that can be our version of Pau Gasol.

If Webber can't play, plain and simple, the best "bigs" standing are Wright, Harrington, Cro. So those guys will play. No Kosta, who's down to D-League, no O'Bryant, who hopelessly sucks. That's the way it is - can't start playing scrubs now, only 1 1/2 games into the 8th spot and Biedrins out (for a few).
Kosta's not gonna "refuse." What exactly are you smoking? Stay away from the crack.

POB does not "hopelessly suck" We are hopeless at just doing the minimum to get our young 7 footers useful. Niether has done anything but rust here and it's the team's job to do everything within reason to turn picks into real assets. Kosta may be enroute to Bakersfield-but he can be back in a few hours.
Still....I see Nellie as only changing when absolutely no option exists. If it gets down to Barnes at C...about then Nellie calls Kevin Willis out of retirement or grabs some obscure D League guy. Since we have gone to great lengths to "prove" POB is of no use now or later-not even as a trade chip- Nellie,as LF suggests, may actually NOT want to risk POB playing well if used. He can live with me and LF saying "told ya" but he's got Mullin too-and he probably has had to hear Mullin suggest that the guy Mully drafted ought to get at least a look. If POB was to play well, then Nellie has to concede that his ex-player (current boss) was right and he wasn't. POB might get some stray minutes but I'd be surprised if Nellie allows any possibility that POB has an impact game.
