Interesting that a personal attack against Otis comes out.

What personal attacks? IF the president of the United States goes to the UN and delivers a speech to the world and half way through starts picking his nose and mumbling to himself is it a personal attack to state that as a representative of the office he should do better? I mean exactly how attentive can you be at representing your team when you do that in front of a bunch of cameras and live TV? Time to grow up there Gato. Being a GM is a public job and it does involve representing the team properly in public. IF you can't follow normal etiquette in a live broadcast and then can't call an agent then it goes to show a possible pattern.

And please spare me the same utter nonsense of months ago when you tried to hide your Gms lack of business manners with Darko not returning calls to Stan. Darko was out of the country, had no clue of who or when a coach would be hired and Stan drew no conclusions about his inability to reach him. WHen you travel some you may find that in many countries you can be nearly unreachable for weeks. At any rate the idea of Darko having bad manners too would still be a school yard defense for an NBA executive.

Oh and when did we win the championship? You have Otis winning us the championship when we got swept last year. Don't get ahead of yourself.

Yea, because without pessimism there can be no optimism. So I THANK YOU for being so miserable and complaining so much that i dont have to.

Glad to see you shaked yourself out of depression. Yesterday you were crying in your hanky that I was putting you in a bad mood.

Chill guy. Its a board. No one is miserable on either side.

Well, in that post there was this:

And this in the next post:

This is just a message board, as you were kind enough to remind us, and debating points is what it's all about, but your manner does make things rather unpleasant.

Back to the point...I'm not trying to call Otis a great GM, but the insistence on negative superlatives goes too far IMO. A lot of the criticisms are based on assumptions -- that there were teams willing to give value in exchange for Darko, that we could have signed Lewis for less money (which is different from saying that he is worth less), that he passed on opportunities to add good players in exchange for our expirings.

The sad part is the dating the girl scenario actually happened to me. Well not exactly the day of the wedding but pretty darn close. Was it a result of not doing my homework? No. Did I get "played"? Yes. So yeah I agree with you wholehearted Mhec about Frans um....business relationship commitment level.

God bless losers like me, richboy or maginno, at least we make you true fans' lives a lot more fun and enjoyable, otherwise you'd get bored to death polishing all those championships rings with Otis.

I do not mind you or maginno's opinion in all of this as at the end of the day I can still say your a legit Magic fan. Richboy although he is close I do not think he brings anything to the table that you and maginno can point out. (If you have heard of Otis hate well this is Richboy Hate.) For me he will always be the self obsorbed liar and I will refuse to listen to him.

As far as Otis as GM. I still think no move was a good move this expiring season. It made the best sense for us right now. Unless we had a potential Gasol for Garity & Agguestine then I would ask for an explanation.

Cat you got me I had no idea that Gato and Noles are in fact Otis which proves that I in fact did make a personal attack on Otis. I finally understand why a number of you take such exception to criticisms of Otis. Let me be the first to officially welcome you the boards Otis - aka noles and Gato - long overdue I realize. However I still think you should abide by board rules. You should only have one User ID being the GM of the Orlando Magic is no excuse.

I get people claiming I whine, cry, moan like a kid, female dog (figure it out) and alot more so clean house before making claims of personal attacks or manners like your really care if the opinion isn't contrary to your own. More than a bit hypocritical there.

though we disagree I always will appreciate and respect a class answer like yours. I had higher hopes for my team than signing one overrated but decent player that is almost untradeable and swallowed our cap space for years to come but If you are passionate about that you get an unending parade of "you are not a fan" shut up" "stop whining posts".

Of course I couldn't care less. If reading a different opinion strongly stated puts some people in a "bad mood" then skip the thread entirely. I'd never let someone's opinion on a board affect my emotional well being.

Yeah me and the other kid are BOTH Otis...your sooooo smart...o wait...lmao get a life

i just dont know what you expect to accomplish by whining all day on a message board... But then again i guess some people arent happy unless they are complaining. o well enjoy your self pity and maybe if you cry loud enough shards contract will get smaller!!!!!

This is the truest part of your story in my opinion. Unfortunately we will have to wait years to see if this was a step. What makes us a winner 1 championship...two...three? What justifies Lewis $$$. Even if we win a championship it may mean nothing unless Lewis like Howard is a central cog.

I do not think Shard is overrated. At least not on this board lol. I don't ever think he was overrated by this board. In fact I think all of us agree he was overpaid. However I also think that we underrate Shard and bash him harshly based on his contract. It's gonna be a long six years so might as well sit back and see how far the Dynamic Dou (As Stan and Otis called it) of Lewis & Howard takes us.

Magic winning = Otis a good GM.
Coke and Switzer won championships, are they good coaches ??
Everyone in their mind mind would say that they inherited a good team.
I already listed my 4 reasons why we are winning this seasons and Otis didn't play a big part in none of those. (If you count Otis signing Lewis for $120 millions, then lets stop this disccusion right now.)

And stop with the "we are winning and its a stepping stone toward......".
Toward what ???
This team has too many holes and if any of you guys think we can compete with the elites, then put the pipe down.
We are not flexible anymore to fill in those gaps.

Also, letting Darko walked for FREE was not a good idea.
Forget that Darko is having a terrible season.
During the summer, he had values.
Even if the Magic didn't want him , we could have used him as trade baits.
So basically, we traded a #1 to Detroit for Arroyo.

Its so laughable that the arguement for Otis being a good GM is because we're winning.

I don't see people whinning. This is a board to talk about subjects. If you don't like the subject your free to not participate. Everyone seems like free willed participates but you keep making comments like you been forced into another Rashard discussion. With nothing more to offer than were winning be happy. Unfortunately things are more complex than that. In reality your complaining that other posters don't have low expectations like yourself. You have no opinion or I'm not sure what it is on the matter. Only that if we win 50 games then shut up. Personally I'm not sure what kind of mantra that is.

maginno and i are not the same. If he was fancy why anyone cared. Fancy should have never been waived anyway. He was pretty much waived for having a unpopular opinion.
