As badly as phoenix is playing since the Shaq trade, and seeing how we are only 2 games behind them in the loss column, perhaps phoenix isn't the playoff lock that I've expected them to be for this entire season.
Their defense has been horrible with the departure of marion, and their scoring has gone down as well.
So assuming that the Rockets cool off but still make the playoffs, it may come down to phoenix, denver, and the Warriors for the last two spots.
Maybe Phoenix will miss the playoffs this time around

It sure is something that it appears that Shaq going to the Suns and Kidd to Dallas may have made those teams worse. Then you go over to Denver and the AI trade last year, I'm sure glad we didn't pick up O'Neal from Indy. Those teams are not looking too good.
As for the Lakers and Utah, I think the one team where have a really rough time winning even one game possibly is the Lakers obviously.
As for Utah, I think that CWeb/Wright/Cro/Harrington on Boozer/Kirlenko/Okur/Milsap respectively gives us a shot this time around if Baron and/or Monta can give us a good effort on Williams. Baron, last year in the playoffs gave us a pretty good effort against him even though he had that injured hammy. I really think we have the personnel to matchup quite well with Utah if Nellie utililizes his personnel correctly.
