I heart Dwight Howard. But he is going to tear us a new one tonight. Shame we dont have Web to muscle up on him a bit. Oh well.

Our guards should dominate their guards, our bench is better, but their front court can get hot and can keep up with our speedsters.

I expect a career night out of Pietrus. He is due for a break out game after missing like 10 threes last night against Miami. I expect him to hit his wing three pointers and if that happens, we will win.

Monta had trouble with DH12 when he drove last game. It was almost the same thing as when guys backed up when he drove. He's gotta adjust this game. Don't let Mo Evans or Jameer go off.

This is where Monta (and Baron) get to use his new found passing skills and dishes off to Beans and Wright (if the fat one plays them together) whenever Howard comes over to block their shot. Orlando really does not have any other defensive presence inside (Turkgolu maybe).

The one thing I've noticed about Howard is that he loves to show off his athleticism in game... Wright would be a great weapon today.

Wright can put up some shots that are nearly unblockable, and Howard will try and block them. In addition, his length might be able to tip some boards away from Howard.

To sum up, fight a physical freak w/another physical freak. He sure won't nullify Howard but he'll put a dent in some of his #s. I'd also like to see Wright on Shard, keeping a hand in that guy's face. I'd run Baron-Tay-Jax-Wright-Biedrins a lot during this game, and stick Tay on Jameer and dare the Magic to create for Jameer or for him to create for them.

Truth be told, if we get caught up in a slowed down game then Id like to see POB get in there. Let him get tossed around by the Beast rather than our talented rookie.

If it is, really read what I write instead of skim it... I never suggested Wright on Howard defensively. I'm saying Howard loves to defend the rim and show off to boot, and if Wright starts getting anything going, Howard's going to try and get up and block some shots that are just impossible to block. To even come close he'll have to make body contact w/Wright, and we could get him in foul trouble. And that's completely ignoring the rebounding aspect.

Nellie loves mismatches right? This is one that could tilt the scales in our favor by nullifying Howard a little bit... Biedrins simply cannot match what Howard can do, and if we go straightforward against ORL, we'd better get hot from outside..

EDIT: Disregard the 1st part if you meant that Dwight would destroy Wright when on defense. If so, then I doubt it and I think you sell Wright's length and ability to control it a bit short.

If the refs allow our slap-happy, turnover-causing D, we can frustrate Dwight down low before he even gets above the rim. Al has been especially good at this lately. After last night's laugher, we really need to have our focus.

You need Wright + Beans to try and offset Howards strength, one of them by himself gets eaten alive (Beans is still a little weak from his surgery which won't help). You go with Jack on Lewis (a tough cover for Jack too), and Wright when he's not helping with Howard would have to play Turkoglu, which would likely an extremely tough matchup for Wright. For us to have a chance (seeing that whe're playin in Orlando) it's going to be our guards (once again) who will have to make the difference. Even there, Calderon is likely going to a difficult matchup for either Baron or Monta, which leaves Evans which is the one place where we SHOULD have a decided advantage. Even though we took them into overtime last time we faced them (could have possibly won it), this to me is one of the tougher teams for us to match up with. If he starts Pietrus or Barnes at the 4 again, I'll be very surprised if we can with them.

And tell me, how do we get Howard to guard Wright every time down the floor without Wright having to guard Howard (which is an obvious mismatch)? Perhaps Stan Van Gundy owes Nellie some cash in a poker game?

Besides, even if Wright was being guarded by Howard he would get absolutely man handled anywhere within the vicinity of the key. He may be able to get lucky and have decent enough position to tip a few balls away but his obvious lack of strength would become apparent immediately.


BTW, remember the last game when we shut down Dwight for the first three quarters? Howd we do that? Small ball starring Al Harrington.
