I'm a bit mixed on Jackson being our coach. Sure, he was a great player, but some of the things he says...once or twice, I've heard him say:

"Dirk Nowitski will be better than Larry Bird."

"Kobe has surpassed Jordan."

Great analyzing...just weird comparisons.

I will say the Nets have been blessed with the best commentating team in the league.

1.) Marv Albert - One of the few things Knicks and Nets fans will agree on: He is NBA.
2.) Ian Eagle - Pair this man with any of the other three and it's a great night, even on a blowout. The guy does everything. NBA, NFL, College Basketball, Tennis...
3.) Mark Jackson - Funny at times. Good analyzing. Great color commentating.
4.) Jim Spanarkel - Can get get a good quip off any of the three. Makes the game flow even when nothing's happening.

The playbook that everyone talks about when they come here and dont get playing time because there are too many plays in it.

The big black book that House spoke about when we signed him. He said it had so many plays.

Guy's don't get sucked in with good color commentators. Hubie Brown, Mike Fratello, Doug Collins....................Dickie V? Just cos they know how to talk about the game don't mean they are good coaches.
Can Frank coach the kids?

I'm a bit mixed on Jackson myself. He can talk a good game while commentating but he's also prone to saying some pretty incredulous things. Everybody seems to be on the Mark Jackson bandwagon these days but he just doesn't give me any confidence as a coach. I would lean towards a young assistant coach who might show some upside. Either way, keep Frank till the end of this season and then decide what needs to be done.

There should be no doubt that Frank is getting fired at the end of the season and Jackson deserves an interview at least.

he definitely wants to...I think he has a very good idea of what it takes...more than anything, I like the different type of voice he could bring to the Nets lockeroom (opie, though he has the idea and means right, comes off like that history teacher that knows everything about anything, but never actually participated in any of it, if you know what I mean)...Mark's a future HOFer who knows how lead on and off the court...a class act during his NBA days, very likable...and as he mentioned before, he has played for more than several HOF coaches...going back to Louy!...that has to add up to something...

I'd give him a shot, he's an easy solution to Frank...

As far as Thorn and the front office...who the hell knows...still confused about that extension...but anyone can get the cut throat...

I'd take mark just because of how unlike Frank he is. Understands the game because he's played. Strong personality. Would probably coach with FORCE. Frank is more like the team pet. The equipment manager in a suit.

I don't know if Frank will be back next year (hoping he's not back), but assuming he won't be, who would you guys like to see coach the Nets next season?

WoW!!! I was so excited. I thought it was a done deal.

I actually jumped out of my seat. My co-workers jumped to. They were scared though.

+1

Look at how Adelman has the Rockets playing on both ends of the floor.

You know what.

We need a guy like him just for the first few years. To toughen up the you guys little. Atleast Skiles will let you play even if you are f'en up but you will get a mouth full. The guy had their best scorer coming off the bench. You have to respect that.

The challenge is finding an effective coach who can light a fire under VC without him shutting down entirely. Frank is too lax. A coach like Mitchell, he had in Toronto, is too tough. Will a coach in the middle do better?

Frank's definitely got to go. His methods, tricks and style never worked great, now they don't work at all.

Its sad that a 31 year old man being paid 60 million dollars to give his best every night has to be breast fed, burped, coddled, and have his diaper changed like a baby in order for him to do so.

Hmph!! More like Half Man/Half Toddler if you ask me!!!
