This game won't be as easy as it should be. The Wolves have been playing better as of late... Although that's not saying much for the 2nd worst team in the NBA.

He actually has 2 extra years on Aldridge if I'm not mistaken. Jefferson was drafted the same year as Telfair.

about the jefferson vs. aldridge, i think that it could be decided during the game. to see, no matter who has more or less experience, who can make the plays that take their team to win the game.

True - Artest is a hard cover for almost any player.
I might try Webster on him & leave Joel in to protect
the middle if the game is close down the stretch.. .
Outlaws wingspan would work good since Artest has
little hops but Artest would out-power Outlaw.. .

I was specifically thinking of Webster when I concluded that Roy was the only tough defensive player we have with enough size to cover Artest. My favorite lineup is Joel on the bench. I like Joel's shot blocking timing and his length but that is all I like about him. IMO Joel's limitations cause more problems than his inside presents solves.

Since Roy will be the best player in the game, I think LMA will have a little more help than Al.

But they have Foye, and his PER48 is nearly identical to Roy's!

How can you talk about lack of a "tough defensive player" and then say "shotblocking and length are the only things I like about Joel Przybilla."

d-train u so crazy!

Pryz is our best defense, what exactly does he lack as a center that makes you feel he should be on the bench? Who do you suggest plays center(besides someone who is out the entire year due to a knee injury). Without Joel our rebounding ability and interior defense is terribly soft as many teams are able to get 2nd & 3rd chances(sometimes 4th chances) without his presence in the game. He's not the best there is, but he's the best we have right now. When Joel comes into the game, he makes a difference for the better.

Limitations on the offensive end, no doubt.
However his screens can come in handy.. .
Im not sure I can agree beyond that point.
Rebounding, paint defense, shot blocking
& size all go up when Joel is on the court.
I believe he is our best center thats suited
up and can go out on the court and play!!
lol

Thats cool tho, we all cant think the same!!

well, joel has been a great center for the blazers and he's been putting better numbers lately.

but is he really limited offensivelly? or his job is not to focus on offense but on defense?

Pryz is worth every penny of his contract and a rotation of Oden and Pryz for years to come will be imposing to say the least.

Really. We can debate this in another thread, but I completely disagree. I love the fact that Nate uses 10- and 11-man rotations. To me, it means consistently fresh legs and the possibility that someone from the bench steps up for a great game.

Joel doesn't play tough defense. He is long, he doesn't go for pump fakes, and he has good timing to block shots. He gets pushed around and doesn't hold post position well enough to be a good post defender. He is so limited offensively I can honestly say he can't do anything on that end. When Joel is in the game, Blazers are constantly playing against a 4 on 5 mismatch. If Joel manages to get a basket, the credit should go to whichever teammate is responsible for exploiting the defenses completely ignoring Joel so they can double-team our offensive players.

Who would Nate play if we didn't have Joel? That is a tough question for Nate I'm sure. A game is 48 minutes long and Nate doesn't have a starting center so what does he do. He has a backup center he plays for 20 minutes a game and that is probably his best option.

All I can say in response is a rotation of Michael Jordan and me would be a good SG rotation.

Nice to see a Sergio sighting....then he hits the 1st quarter buzzer beater and Travis seems to be back a little bit.

Was in the chat room but it got invaded by a bunch of cursing morons from other teams. Many of the Blazer posters stopped chatting.
Klinky, if we are going to have a chat room, (which I appreciate you setting up) we need to be able to monitor it a bit. I've actually invited some teenage fans into the chat and would be quite embarrassed and have to answer their parents for the language that was permeating the chatroom.
