I think the only way they bite is if we include Iguodala, Young, or our first in 2009, with that package. That's something I'm obviously not willing to do.

how about miller+willie+2009 first pick(lottery proected for many years) for #6?

As others have said, I'm not sure how legit this is but it is interesting to consider. As for cap space, I believe that if Maggette opts out, the Clippers will have some cap space to help absorb Miller's contract.

There's no way this rumor could be substantiated this far from the draft.

Further more, I wouldn't do this trade.

Beasley, Rose, Gordon, Bayless, Lopez will all be gone by 6.

That leaves you with Jordan, Mayo, Arthur, and Thabeet.

I don't think I would trade Miller + 16 + Utah's pick for any of those players above.

don't forget the potential cap space we'd be getting too. Here's the top 10 according to nbadraft.net:

1. Michael Beasley
2. Derrick Rose
3. Brook Lopez
4. Jerryd Bayless
5. DeAndre Jordan
6. Eric Gordon
7. Nicolas Batum
8. Russell Westbrook
9. OJ Mayo
10. Danilo Gallinari

imo you have a good shot to get a very nice player at #6.

i have two skeptical comments to make...

1. miller started in clipper land didnt he? i thought it ended badly and he wanted out as fast as possible because STERLING, who is still in charge, was cheap and running a crappy franchise and every player there hated it. no? that wouldnt suggest to me that miller is looking to go back. if he wants to play in LA, why not look to sign a midlevel with the lakers?

2. IF the rumor is true that they plan on packaging miller and the pick in the offseason, how dumb would they have to be to let that leak out to anyone with this much of the season left?

Miller played one full year for the Clippers. The Cavs traded him to L.A. for Darius Miles....

This move makes sense. What's wrong with Mayo? He's a small offensive minded franchise player who might have an prima donna attitude problem. Of all teams, I think the Sixers are best built to accomodate one of those.

For some odd reason that reminds me- time to get pumped up for the Nuggets game.

I wouldn't do this deal. If I trade Miller, I'm looking for a veteran, not a lottery pick. We have enough young players, it's time to start adding some guys entering their prime. We are a team on the rise, why take a step back?

I can't see Miller being traded draft night, but the one team that I think desparately needs a PG like Miller is Orlando...maybe they would offer the rights to Vazquez and/or a #1 and filler, but I don't think they have any value to offer outside of Vazquez and a pick.

If they decide they really needed a PG I could see them selling high on Hedo to us.

In speculating potential Lottery teams who might flip their pick for Miller + change, we focused on the Clips. Most naturally. But might the Blazers be a sleeper team for Andre Miller's services? It's the perfect fit with Oden returning next year.

Think about it. Move Miller for the 13th pick. That's equal value. Then you have 2 first rounders (13 +17) and a GM who knows what to do with that. You could do a lot of damage with those assets. Also, I'm sensing that Eddie is curious what Lou can do as a PG. Only one way to find out.

If the Clips balk at swapping their pick for Miller + picks, would you do Miller straightup for the 13th pick? Sign me up.

Portland could...but you'd probably have to take back Miles/Pryzbilla to make the $$ match...and then it starts to make less and less sense.

You mentioned selling high on Hedo...when will Miller's stock ever be higher? Off a great season, and an expiring contract?

because nothing is ever good enough. everyone wants a 12 man squad full of 22 year olds who score 25 pts a game, grab 9 boards and 8 assists a game. also they need to be crazy athletic, jump through the roof, be the best dunker in the game and shoot 44% from beyond the arc.

fact is... andre miller has won more games for this team this season than andre iguodala has and still fans cant wait to get rid of him because they have some strange fantasy that we will develop a 10 year dynasty by building a team full of guys who dont know how to win and have no experience. - when really, all you become when you do that is the modern day bulls, hawks, or knicks.
