BTW, it was dumb giving Maggette guy up. I know that he was given up in order for LAC to take on Strong's contract but u dont just give up good young players like that.

correct me if a wrong - but that was all in an effort to get the trifecta - Hill, MeMac and Timmy.
mattyBoi wrote:Does anyone else compare Maggette to Ariza...Being young talent and just letting them go for basically nothing.
We seem to do that often...Ben wallace
mattyBoi wrote:I was basically just comparing them because yah know they were both young talents with potential to be great and were traded without a really great return...when you consider what they could become...Also we people really wanted both to stay
I like the Ariza trade right now, mainly because Evans is really fitting in with us...But 3-4 years down the road...Ariza should be a stud...I mean hes so young and when he gains weight and muscle and a decent shot he will be scary.
About williams...I dont think there is MUCH of a difference between Arroyo and Williams but i like Williams because hes a vet with championship experience.

yeah, stop including nelson in our nucleus, hes a bench player at best
we need to sign a SG this offseason with the MLE, Magette, JR Smith, Childress, whoever. Get Fran over here, and draft either PG or PF help. Marreese Speights would be a perfect fit at PF for us, and i think Kyle Weaver will be a good PG/SG type in the brandon roy mold. Either one of them should be able to be had around where we pick.

We're not going to the playoffs, so we'll have plenty of time to make that decision

You're telling me Maggette will pass up his first significant raise to take a pay cut from Orlando, a pay cut which potentially could leave him with half of what he could make by staying in L.A.? He smiled when asked about free agency because it's an opportunity for him to make more money, not less.

prorl wrote:As far as im concerned, Magz got his payday when Utah signed him to the offer sheet which the Clips matched. If he is looking for a big payday, an increase or max type or aproaching it, he is not gonna get it with the other FA competition and few teams having cap room. Plus if he doesnt want to be with the Clips anymore, who could blame him. He wont win there. If Maggete wants to win, he wont stay in LA.

You guys are barking up the wrong tree. You can't pay Maggette what he wants and you don't have the pieces for a S&T. I'd be my ass that not even a prestigious legitimate contending team like the Spurs could talk Corey into signing for the MLE. Corey is going where the money is.
