did you hear about stanford's new tuition policy? if you come from a family that makes less than $100,000 dollars a year, you only pay for room/board and books. if you come from a family that makes less than $60,000 a year............free ride for everything. families that top the scale with over $100,000 a year...........the tuition is supposed to be LESS than a california Junior College but room/board and books will need to be paid for.

What exacly do you mean by that bold comment?

But yeah, im leaning toward SB at this point. Well definitely keep in contact though. THanks for that.

Nah, dont drink, but do like to party. Ive read SB is pretty good at that. ol

But the schools you listed I was never really interested in, and are now out of the questions since app deadlines are now months past. lol.

Im definitely not one of those school freaks. im the lazy laid back type who just happened to get his work done in HS when it counted.

Pretty average GPA (3.5) and pretty average SAT (1650) / ACT (25) as far as im concerned.

Just wanna head somewhere where ill be able to meet some kickback people, learn a few things that would propel me to future success in the job market, and have a good time doing it.

Looks like a great car. I definitely didnt think it would be that cheap.

Simple look on the outside, but packs everything i'd ever need on the inside. Definitely something id look into. Thanks for the heads up!

Yeah, i've heard of this as well. Its not only Staford though, Its also done by MANY liberal Arts colleges on the East (UPenn and Columbia come to mind).

Considering my fam only makes about $30k, this wouldve been perfect for me

Unfortunately I heard about these financial aid benefits after the application deadlines were done.

Serious on what, exactly?

From someone who took SAT classes and took the test 3 times, here are some tips that are SURE to help you out:

-Dont do anything out of teh normal the night before! Do everything as you would normally do it.

- I know youre a music fan, so for a few days before the test (and the morning of the test if possible), try to not listen to ANY music with lyrics and whatnot. I know this may sound stupid, but try dloading some orchestra-type stuff and listen to that. Not only is it relaxing, but it prevents you from being distracted during the test with lyrics, which DEFINITELY mess you up (they messed me up my first time.

- PACE YOURSELF! Cants tres that enough. I saw MANY people done like 10 minutes before the time given. MANY people simply rush it. DO NOT RUSH IT!. Take your time, especially on the essay part (which will come first).

- Dont worry about hat other people are doing. I know it sounds stupid suggesting this considering what I said in my point above (in which i did look around at others lol), but I had a chance to change that my 2nd and 3rd time. Concentrate on your own test and what youre doing.

Good luck man! Wish you the best. Remember, these SAT tests wont make you or break you in your college decisions. Its just one of the many factors they look at when sorting though hundreds (or thousandths) of applications.

Wish you the best!

I just mean its a total different scene. Isla Vista is a party town. And when I mean town , everyone and anyone. I can smell the meister brau from here. Its very social and there is a lot going on at all times. Be strong if you go there.... oh and stay away from Del Playa on Halloween no matter what you here.

Oh and Freebirds will be your friend.

Santa Cruz,..is just different laid back and alot of "hippie" type people. There are fun things to do and there is some party there but nothing like SB.

SB also wins in the weather dept.

Just different places with different vibes. I have heard many say, I am going there to study and be good.. next thing they know they are falling off the cliffs and getting arrested for jumping on the back of a moving fire truck... oh wait..

If you live in IV you wont need a car but you might in SC.

Good advice. Im a techno/trance dude nowadays because rap is straight up played out so I have no problems with that. Thats how I rocked on my PSATs. I scored like a 190 something on it. Only if that translates to the actual SATs which would mean a 1900+.

I mean I have a 92 average in school so Im confident I have the smarts and ingenuity to excel in that class.

what do you run in track

Im a sprinter man. I dont like distance.

I had my first outdoor track meet of the season today. I was the second man on my 4*100 team. We were last place and when I got that baton, I crossed everyone like I was SSJ19 Gohan (it doesnt exist but OK). It was so windy in the stadium because we were in an island. Randall's Island to be exact. I crossed two people and basically I decided our team's position at 3rd place in that heat.

I ran a 13.7 according to my coach and I didnt even feel like I was going that fast either because of the wind. I didnt really feel winded after the run either so that gives me a sign. My goal is to run a 12.6 by season's end on the 100.

Also, since I'm a sprinter, I leaned out enough at 155. Now I am trying to gain weight and up myself to 175 by coming September. I am reading all the stuff on athletes.com and bodybuilding.com and you name it I went there. I need advice from someone here who knows how to gain muscle and actually did it to believe it.

And no, I still dont have abs after all that running, crunches (name any type of crunch, I have most likely done it), and weight loss.

So yeah, that's my story. If any of you are willing and kind enough to gimme actual tips on gaining 20 pounds of muscle in 6 months Im all ears. I need a success story from someone I know to actually believe it. Thanks y'all.

EDIT: BTW, I'm reading the eBook "The Secrets to Gaining Muscle Mass" by Anthony Ellis if that helps.
