NY/NJ Trade

Post#1 » by numbaonestuna31 » Thu Apr 3, 2008 1:33 pm

My first trade post I think it would be beneficial to both teams let me know what you think.

Trade ID #4556694

New jersey Gets
Incoming Players
Zach Randolph
17.7 ppg, 10.3 rpg, 2.1 apg in 32.9 minutes

New York gets
Stromile Swift
6.8 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 0.6 apg in 15.7 minutes
Trenton Hassell
2.0 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.7 apg in 12.5 minutes
Keith Van Horn
No games yet played in 2007/08

There are some problems with this trade like Swift would have to exercise his player option next year for it to work (which he probably would if he was smart) and you would have to wait to trade KVH and hassell since they were just aquired.

Why for New York:
Donnie Walsh has been preaching cap space and getting rid of randolph would certainly help. All the players he is getting are expiring in at most 2 years which helps their cap space for the 2010 season when Lebron and Wade will be free agents.

Why for New jersey
The east is always wide open and New Jersey finallly will get some inside scoring to go with their perimeter players They would have a very nice starting five of Harris at pg Carter at sg RJ at sf Randolph at pf and sean williams at center. I think that they could contend with that lineup and they dont give up any of their core players for a guy in randolph who could average 20 and 10.

NO **** way NJ ruins their payroll with taking Randolph off NY hands .

This team would just look good on paper and woulnd't be successful.

I don't even like it on paper. Horrible for NJ. Not as bad as yesterday's edition (with Boone instead of Swift! ), but still not a chance.
