To hell with your expiring contracts, there's a decent chance the Sixers will straight up have $11MIL in cap space that can offer a team immediate savings and a huge trade exemption.

It'll be interesting to see if they can get something of value not named Zach Randolph for that cap space. It seems as though GMs have a done a much better job over the past 2 years of not giving out terrible contracts hence there aren't that many big deals that teams are looking to unload.

And if he doesn't.. those expirings will go right out of the window . Carters contract is kinda like playing with fire. If he has a down year which is possible, with all that money left on his contract he will be tough to move.

Problem is you seriously underestimate Carters impact on the Nets . They much rather trade Jefferson .

When Carter has a big game he always flirsts with a triple double and the Nets most likely win or are competetive . Jefferson ? Not so much.

Jefferson is good within the flow of the game , Carter controls the flow of the game thats the difference .

We just can't trade our best player for just expirings we are not Memphis .

Rasheed Wallace is still good and he has a 14mil expiring deal next year. If the Pistons don't make it to the NBA Finals this year, I'd put that on the market over the summer and see what it can fetch.

Marbury has a 22 million dollar expiring contract. There are certain franchises that would kill for that cap space, but if Walsh trades him instead of letting it expire (step 1. towards getting towards the cap), he is an old fool.

Malik Rose and his 8 million dollar expiring would probably be available.

I pray Cleveland uses their expirings to get Jamal Crawford though, that would be hilarious. Jamal could challenge Lebron to see who can get away with the most moving violations in a game.

In a twisted way, I think Marbury's expiring might be too big to move. With so many teams trying to avoid the luxury tax, some teams might not be able/willing to invest 1/3 of their payroll on a player who's on-court impact will be minimal. Plus getting the contracts to match won't be easy, especially if Walsh truly wants to be under the cap for 2010.
