Holiday is amazing. I like him better than DeRozan right now.
As a colege hoops fan, it disappoints me that Ibaka and Ajinca can't come over to the NCAA for a couple of years. It would be phenomenal for their development, way better than sitting on the bench in Europe. They need to learn how to use their atheticism.
If you are a playoff team with no need for an immediate impact player, you pretty much have to draft one of those two international bigs, don't you?

Ajinca- his upside is through the roof, has some crazy length, but please dunk the damn ball instead of laying it in softly!!!
Evans- very taletned, but overrated IMO J-Crawford Pt.II
Monroe- hasn't lived up to his potential thus far, but the best prospect in this class
Holliday-very smooth sound fundamental player, gonna be a great college player verry underrated in this class
Derozan- athletic, pretty skilled, but the jury is still out on him if he can put it all together

Which bench? Ibaka plays 25 minutes a game in a very respectable league such as the LEB. Besides, I'm not sure he would develop better in the NCAA. Why do you think so? He arrived to Spain just one year ago (came from Africa via France, where he stayed a few months, I believe), so it's not like he had enjoyed that much time to work in his game.

You're probably right. I made the comment because it was very obvious from watching the game that Ibaka overwhelmed by the USA team's athleticism. It looked to me like he was used to playing against opponents significantly less athletic than him, and a year of college would solve that problem for him. I like his aggressive mentality, though. He moves SO well...
Ajinca had that same deer in the headlights look last year, but came back and was a completely different player. So maybe it is just Ibaka's overall inexperience.

Well, as a MN alum I'm very excited that he's a future gopher.
The Good: He seemed to have a nice handle and was the only int'l guard who could deal with the US pressure. I think he'll play some minutes at the backup point next year for MN. He played very unselfish and wasn't afraid to take it at the US bigs. For the most part his outside shot wasn't falling, but as far as I can tell that's the strength of his game so I'm certainly not worried.
The Bad: He's very physically underdeveloped. It looks as if he hasn't touched a weight in his life, his arms and legs are very very thin. While he has good athletism, he isn't a "wow" athlete like many of the US guards. From looking at him I'm not sure he's the 6'2" or 6'3" that he's listed at.
Basically, I think he's going to be a very good college player. I heard someone make a Juan Dixon comparison, and I think that's his ceiling down the road if he develops.

The other guards on the World Team were abused by the back court players on the American team. Joseph was not. He looks quick & shows pretty good ball handling skills. I was pretty impressed & think he'll be a good college player even as a freshman. I think they said he was going to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

I thought Diego Gerbaudo played pretty well (despite the fact he had five TOs). He seems like a pretty crafty and smart player. He out-played Zygimantas Janavicius, in my opinion. I was amazed that Tim Ohlbrecht had such a quiet game. I thought he would be better.

I'm glad to hear those things; I hope he is successful at the NCAA level, and everything I have heard about him so far suggests that he will be. Yea, Corwin, he's going to the University of Minnesota.
Jpatrick, do you follow the Gophers? Given their guard rotation, does Devoe have a chance to start for them? (I know nothing about the players they currently have)
Oh, and my interest in Joseph comes solely from the fact that he is Canadian, and I root for any Canadian prospects to do well. Given that he is the best talent coming out of the Canadian HS this year, I'm interested to see what he can do, a lot of people have high hopes for him. Other Canadians in his class, like Olu Ashalou, have been hyped for years, but I doubt I'll get a chance to see him play on TV.

It's possible. They were so bad when Tubby took over last year he's basically revamping the entire roster so it's hard to tell. Currently we only have one PG (Nolen) on our roster and we have two SGs (Hoffarber and Westbrook) who should see time on the court. The only one of the three that was a starter last year was Westbrook. From seeing Joseph, my guess is he'd either start at SG in a 3 guard look or come off the bench backing up both PG and SG. Either way I think he'll get plent of minutes as a freshman.

Playing for Grassroots canada AAU against the best aau teams in the states has given him some experience playing against these guys so prob not a big surprise that he was able to hold his own
