Beasley has to be the choice.
My sentimenets exactly. There's simply no reason to detract from Beasley in order to pump Rose. They're both great. But if were in posistion to actually choose between the two, (aka number 1) Beasley clearly the choice..
Beasley makes this team far more balanced, and better posistioned to be a contender asap. A lethal pick and roll combination right off the bat with Wade. Wade and Rose while the potential is there to damage....That's two guards who both flourish with the basketball in their hands moreso than it not. Wade would have to switch up his style a bit to accommodate Rose. With Beasley? Not so much...Beasley moves pretty decently without the ball...He has Rebounding ability, and some range..Enough of this Beasley isn't a 'real big man'..He's not Tim Duncan or David Robinson blah blah...C'mon bruh..Yeah, actually he is...He has the potential to be a Karl Malone/Charles Barkely caliber player(not necessarily the same skillset as either, but having just as diverse of game as either) ...Where the Mailman and Round Mound of Rebound "centers" or "real bigman"...No, but they both were hellified Powerforwards in this league and first ball Famers...
We could go into 2009 with Wade, Beasley and enough salary cap flexibility for a max player...Either to retain Marion, or go after another young stud (say a Luol Deng if he ends up wanting to take the Qualifying offer this off-season with the Bulls)..
Again, Love Rose...And if that's who end up I'm going to stoked as well. But Michael Beasley on this team makes the most sense. No questions asked...

If we didnt have Wade then Rose would make sense but since we do priority goes towards a post player like Beasley. Right now if Beasley was on this team he would be our best post player from day one, if Rose was on this team its questionable if he would be a better passer than Wade or if he is the better shooter than Wade from day one. Either player would be an upgrade but Beasley makes more sense if your aiming to win Championships.

At this point we really can't go wrong with either pick.
With the way our luck has been lately, we should be fortunate to end up with a Top 2 selection
As long as we get either Beasley or Rose our team will improve dramatically

Beasley makes me nervous. And if Riley does indeed draft him, Riley needs to stay on as coach, because this kid has character issues that could become a chemistry problem for the team. And if you don't think that could happen, you're living in a fantasy world, with prancing ponies.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

just out of curiousity, where did this reputation come about? I mean I've heard the same things too, but did this reputation leak out from his days in hs? Were there any specific incidents that occurred or was it just word on the street from coaches/teammates, etc?
I don't recall hearing anything bad from him during his time at K-State but I'd def. like to read up on it

You haven't seen much of the guy. You will be somewhat suprised.
Good thing Riles actually was scouting, so will have some people with a clearer head that actually make the calls.
and you have?
Seriously, you are entitiled to your own opinion and so are we...I have seen beasley and rose both and have said that each is worth of being # 1 but i am sold on beasley as a prospect and think hes a better fit here than rose would be...i am very skeptical on a lot of players but beasley has the best inside outside game i have seen in a long time...hell be a star IMO

It came out because of all his high school stuff. The guy went to like 5 different high schools. He also has said to hang with the wrong crowd and everyone knows what you keep around you is a good example of what your going to be. I for one think it will leave with age, but i could be wrong. Either way, Bring him in for a interview and if you look into his eyes and see a guy that is ready to become a man, draft him and If riley sees a kid that is just happy being in the nba go with Rose. Either way you don't lose.

An article from his high school days. Hopefully he grows out of it, and you're right about no incidents occurring at K State, so that's a plus. But I'm not only talking about off the court issues. His offense is NBA ready, but his defense is not that great, and it's due to a lack of effort. Riley would need to push him on that.
Oh, and if the Heat wants to become a dynasty, it'll be Roy Hibbert at 1.
