I don't think it's fair to "punish" a team's fans for playing a Canadian team in the playoffs. The NBA was the one that expanded - plan on dealing with a ratings hit if you're going to do so.

Well, put it this way, NBA TV had to take some of the load either way. There's just not enough spots open on TNT, ESPN, and ABC for all the 1st round games. I thought Howard would be enough to get the series some good national attention, I was wrong. If Toronto was playing the LeBrons, I can guarantee you there wouldn't be 3 NBA TV games in that series...

It must be the Magic, because Last Year Toronto was only on NBATV for 1 game (Game 2) the rest was were ESPN (1 & 6), EPSN2 (Game 3) and TNT (Game 4 & 5).

I guess Raptors vs Nets was more exciting than Raps vs Magic go figure maybe it had to do w/ VC. If Magic don't have excitement it's not Toronto Raptors fault.

We were on all of last year too, but I guess its the combination of out of states market + small market new-ish playoff teams. although I think 3 is way too much.. CLE/WAS or even BOS/ATL could have one.

and Kosta I've been watching streams but lately its been hard to get one.. and I heard there were none for the playoffs? I dono hopefully that isnt the case

NBA League pass doesn't carry playoff games. But I'm fairly confident that there will be streams from the NBA TV feeds online. Probably not the best quality, but as long as you have a decent internet connection, you'll be fine. Sopcast Ftw.

we got shafted so FREAKING bad. Further proof that no1 in the states cares about canada. I cant belive we got TRIPLE the amount of NBATV games than the REST OF THE LEAGUE...wow.

Not only did FSN screw us over for 41 games, we get screwed by stern for 3 more. God is not a magic fan, Ill tell you that.

Some of you guys actually think there is more interest in this series than Lebron, the Celtics and the Western Conference?

Neither TO or Orlando draw much interest from the outside fan. If you were playing Philly or Washington you would still get many NBA TV games.

Edit: Just to give you some perspective, both the Raptors and the Magic are BELOW the league average in road attendance. Only a Toronto or Orlando homer would expect the casual fan to have any interest. This is easily going to be the least watched series from a US rating standpoint.

first of all these are the national tv schedule, not local. Local tv stations will carry all the games.

2ndly, its not just that raptors are out of country, they have no marquee star. If raps still had carter, this wouldnt be relagated to 2nd class status. Its all about marketablity with the nba.

No, no one said that. Of course there is less interest in this series - but more so because of Toronto, than Orlando. That's what we're getting at.

However, again - this is NOT Toronto's fault. Orlando shoulders some of the "blame" for being a small market team, but Toronto gets most of it for being an out-of-country team...there's nothing your team or fans can do about that. Not the Raptors fault.

The NBA saw Boston, Detroit, and Cleveland...then saw that the Magic were facing the Raptors, who get very little exposure in the USA. The Orlando/Toronto series then became the obvious choice to dump the majority of NBATV games on.

Basically, if the Magic were facing the Wizards or the Sixers, the NBATV games would have been distributed a bit more equally, is our (or at least my) theory.

Detroit will seep Philly, our series is extremely more interesting. The Celtics vs the Hawks will be rout after rout, I rather see a fun competitive series like the one we are about to have

Also, lol @ 3 of the games being confirmed for NBATV, with games 6 and 7 not determined yet. I bet if we go that far at least one more will be NBATV. NO RESPECT.

because ur facing the raptors

It sure seems like a lot of people here have something more important to do than go to a playoff game Sunday after spending all season commenting on the team. If this is supposedly the Magic's most dedicated fan base, I don't know if that bodes very well for the turnout.

I think it's just because neither Toronto or us are the Celtics, Pistons, or Lebrons. and we aren't in the west.

Not to mention one of our national TV games(game 4) is the same time as the NFL draft.

That many people watch the NFL draft? I thought it was only the hardcore fans who did that.

The NBATV games don't really bother me that much. I knew it would happen. There is so many games going on in the first round, it would be imposbbile to show all of them nationally, so I kind of expected it.

Should we advance to the second round, most likely all of our games will be nationally televised.

I'm loving the TV schedule because I get those channels in HD. I don't get the locals yet and I have to use my very frustrating off air HD antenna. It never stays locked in on a signal for me. Thanks Canada, your obscurity has benefited me once again. :D

I think a lot of people normally watch the beginning of it and the people who watch the majority of it is the hardcore fans. I think a lot of people will watch the beginning at least and you know ESPN is going to try to get everyone to watch the draft as opposed to the NBA playoffs, since it is on its network. So I think more casual fans will watch the beginning. So I think the ratings for our game will be even lower than the first couple.

I know if we weren't playing I probably would watch the draft and then flip it to the NBA game during the commercials.
