Close the book, next year is gonna be good!

Post#1 » by Lane1974 » Thu Apr 17, 2008 2:05 am

Let's finally shut the door on this abomination and aberration.

next year
(hopefully)
Healthy Wade
Healthy Marion (or a healthy scoring big in a trade)
Healthy UD
Top 2 pick
back to the playoffs

from the mod staff, thanks Heat posters for making this year which could have been a major bear on here to good times every night for the most part, and understanding that we have nowhere to go but up.

Nothing against the Matrix but I kinda hope we trade him. I want some low post scoring.

We all just need to spend the next month praying to god nonstop to just help us out on May 20th. We've suffered enough heart break this season, I can't take getting screwed in the lottery. This is what I hope to see next year:

PG: Rose
SG: Wade
SF: Marion
PF: Haslem
C: I hope we can get a guy like a Joel Pryzbilla through either a trade or the MLE. Just a solid guy who will rebound, defend, and do his role.

He'll also need to be able to run the floor with that excellent foursome of Rose-Wade-Marion-Haslem, which is a reason that I think its time for Riles to step down and we should move in a new direction with a coach that is going to loosen up the reigns and let a lineup like that run and not put them through 3 hour grueling practices that injure half the roster. I love Riley but he needs to just concentrate on his front office duties.

PLEASE GOD HELP US OUT.

edit: I just talked to the Heat offices by the way inquiring about season tickets, i'm going to wait until after the draft lottery to make my final decision though. ;o

Uh...isn't that what he provides?

I think that with Blount, UD, Matrix, Wade and Rose we could make it the playoffs.
Go to the 2nd round, then once Blount is off the books we could go after a guy like Okafor, Bosh...
Okafor, UD, Matrix, Wade and Rose....damn that would be sweet.

I would trade Marion if he didn't want to extend. But I think he is a piece I would like to keep. His defensive versatily, his rebounding, beside the fake injury they probably made for him this year, he doesn't miss games.
Yeah I could see a Rose, Wade, Marion, UD. Jeff Foster
also target some shooters, like James Jones, or others, and a guy like Diop to play vs the big guys.

See the progress of Joel Anthony, to add. we might have a nice mix to do some things in offense and defense. And might be a suprise team next year.

I just check on the Spurs roster saw that this years salaries and saw that Fabricio Oberto, and Kurt Thomas contract is up this season.

What about targetting Fabricio Oberto and Jeff Foster, the guy I would really like to have from the Spurs is that Ime Udoka cat, he reminds me of Bruce Bowen junior. Wade needs a specilist behind him, to keep him fresh for the Playoffs, and because he losses focus a lot in defense, this guy Udoka is very intense, he also can hit the three, but he has one year remaining in his contract, am sure the Spurs will never trade him though, considering his dirt cheap to add.

But maybe a guy like that playing behind Wade, defender, that can hit the three we should target.

As long as Mark Blount is on this team, we will not make the playoffs. We need to trade him. I am down for Foster and if lucky some Oberto (although I doubt Spurs let him go)

Rose and D-Wade would be sickkk. But if we have Haslem at PF next year and a guy like Jeff Foster, we would have serious problems getting points in the paint.

You mean from the post. Marion, Wade and if we draft Rose or Beasley, score most of the points by attacking the rim which translates into point from the paint. We need some shooters to spread the floor to open up things for our core players.

Just because you get a high pick doesn't mean a thing unless you draft the right guy, that has the "it". Even if we get the number one pick, people have wasted their first pick on so called big guy duds, like Kwame Brown, and Michael Olowokandi, even Darko. Even the year that Jordan was drafted, a guy by the name of Sam Bowie was drafted in front of him, another big guy. Unless you know a guy is a Shaq like beast, big guys, or guys that you might think could play big in the NBA are a risk. Even players like Christian Laetner, was a College God, but vs the Pros, average overall.

So I would hesitate to pull the trigger, especially when you got a guy by Rose, by most pundits has the most HOF potential of the draft. People thought Jordan wouldn't have as much as impact, because he just wasn't big enough. Hope the Heat doesn't do the same mistakes as others have done.

I just don't get the sense watching this pictures against a 6 11 270 pounder, that Beasley will be a legit big in the Pros.

guy is 6 9 235 pounds.

Imagine him next to Shaq by accident. And people have the gall to even insinuate like the guy is going to dominate the paint in the NBA like Shaq.

I think even Elton Brand is being a bit generous.
