The Official Amazingly Sucky Wizards Team Thread
It is time to call out the wizards for their great suckitude. Unbelievable, unforgivably weak fourth quarter on Saturday was followed up by a gutless, heartless, pathetic pwnage by the OBVIOUSLY INFERIOR cavs squad. The cavs are a barely over .500 team with no talent outside LeBron and Z. The zards are (or were) a gutty team that managed to string together a +.500 record without Arenas for essentially the entire season and with several starters missing significant numbers of games, including all star caron.
Then come the playoffs and this gritty, resourceful team STINKS UP THE JOINT and lays an ENORMOUS TURD in the middle of the floor on Monday.
The zards QUIT ON ME. I went over to the cavs board and talked trash. I was confident. I was HAPPY to be facing the MISERABLE OVERRATED cavs. And then the zards turned tail and ran from them! Absolutely gave up! SUCK DOES NOT BEGIN TO DESCRIBE THE PATHETIC HEARTLESS WEAKNESS THAT THIS TEAM HAS BECOME! THEY HUMILIATED ME! I AM EMBARRASSED TO BE A ZARDS FAN!!!!

Help us, Obi-wan Leonsis. You're our only hope.

Sure thing. Right after the "we've got chemistry," "we're happy w/ our team," "let's see what we can do in the Playoffs when we're healthy," "we want the Cavaliers" Wizards get trounced in the first round like clock work once again. Love it.

Lack of patience got the Wizards front office to perform brilliant trades like Chris Webber for Mitch Richmond or Richard Hamilton for Jerry Stackhouse. Overall the Wizards have done more than what people have thought given how many injuries they have had this season.
This series is not over yet. The Wizards still have two games at home to nod up the series. I expect the Wizards to play much better especiallly coming off a bad loss like this.
That being said, EG will look for all the best possible moves to make this team better (although I'm not sure if Abe Pollin will go into the luxury tax). It is clear Arenas is not 100% coming off of that knee injury. Butler is adapting to playing playoff basketball as the number 1 option. Hopefully, he will get reinvigorated when playing in front of Verizon Center

actually, who *is* the number one option?
Seriously.
Lack of focus, lack of synergy, lack of leadership.
On the Celtics, KG is clearly the #1. Even though Ray Allen and Paul Pierce have been all-stars for years and have led their teams for years.
Here, it's an open question as to who is the number one among Butler, Jamison and Arenas.

A loss is a loss, whether you lose by 30 points or 1 point it still counts just the same.
Game 3 Thursday night, season on the line. Jamison and Butler have too much pride (regardless of what they showed last night) to allow the Wiz to go down 0-3.
I expect the 6th man and more balanced officiating with the home court/fans to carry us to victory.

Soooooooooo
what is the general tenor of the board (assuming that no miracles happen)
I say complete house-cleaning, everyone from EJ on down is liable for dismissal, and EG being on notice (though I admit a lot of this current team is simply the hand that has been dealt)
Only 2 of the big 3 should come back at most.

Patience is what you practice when your team captain and 20-10 guy isn't in his 30s, like AJ is. Retaining him this year was a clear signal "We think we could win now in the next couple years. Better keep him around, even though we're likely to overpay when he re-ups with us."
If we were on the 3-4 year plan, we would have been SO much better sending Mr. $16 mil expiring salary 1 of 4 players to average 20-10 this year [but probably just a couple years of high performance left in his +30 yr old body]. Someone younger like Gasol. Wonder if NO would have bitten on Jamison for West last year [no way now that West's totally had a break out year]. IOW, someone young but less proven.
As it is, I'm almost certain Ole Abe will force EG to resign Jamison and Gil. We're stuck with these no heart punks.
Crap.

I'm new here, but I assumed this thread was started as one of those reverse psychological joints that works some kind of magic (i.e. the Songaila thread). But if this is serious and ya'll have changed your tune like this over one game, good grief! I'll admit the timing of the butt whooping was terrible, but have ya'll forgot the Jazz game? The epic fail thread was started the day after that with people saying tank for Rose, and once we righted ship everyone was back on board. This isn't the NFL, and it ain't one and done in the playoffs. It's bleak, yes, but I ain't writing these guys off.

Sorry, but I disagree. Losing by one point implies that the Wiz were in the position to win the game. Losing by 30 means they were never in the game. I can live w/ a one-point loss.... but 30??? The Wiz didn't even deserve to be on that floor last night.... just heartless.
I hate it when the Wiz contribute to the "legend" of Lebron one game at a time and elevate over-the-hill players like Big Ben and Wallyworld to a higher level.
I'd like to believe the rest of your post, but I'll be content to expect the worse (because that's based on what we've seen so far) and hope for the best.
Oh, and as far as "more balance officiating w/ the home court" ... that's yet to be seen when the opponent is NBA's marketing posterboy.
