Even with the knee injury, weight gain and foul troubles? He is a great prospect but so is Rose.

Except I think Carmelo would go above Paul, given their situations coming out of college. Remember, Marvin Williams (another freshman with much less success than Carmelo) went above Paul.

Knee injury, okay, but weight gain? That's due to the knee injury, not a separate issue. And the foul trouble? That only occurred during the period where he couldn't breath due to his tonsilitis issues--he never experienced foul troubles prior to the second round of the NCAAs his freshman year, not even against top 10 teams.
If he goes ahead of Durant, he easily goes ahead of Rose. Rose is great, but I don't sense the game-changing sort of talent in him that I saw in Durant last year.

You do not see Rose as a game-changing talent? I think Rose has been ahead of Durant in most prospects minds. I like Durant, but Rose is crazy good.
The cause of the weight gain is not the issue, the result is. Oden was a crazy athlete in college. Adding a bunch of weight changes that athletic ability and changes coordination.

The cause of his weight gain was the injured knee, ergo not being able to work out. Now that his knee is recovering he's able to work out and will lose the extra weight. I think that should be pretty obvious to all but the most blinkered.

I admit to being a huge Rose guy...and would welcome him to the Bucks with widely open arms, but I gotta believe if you had Oden and Durant in this draft....they would still go 1-2...unless you got a team that NEEDs a PG...and at that I can see the team dropping down to 3 so that the slotted 3 team could move up to 1-2 to take one of the others.

As a bucks fan you made that mistake before with Bogut over Paul. So similar logic would be expected.
