Notes for Game 7

Post#1 » by Harry10 » Sun May 4, 2008 12:59 am

Hawks know what to do, it is not a secret any more.

get the ball out of Paul and Ray's hands, and let everyone else, especially KG take the shots.

don't settle for jumpers

run early and often and get Smith involved

get Horford the ball and beat people up inside.

hope that Bibby has a decent shooting night

Hawks also have to get lucking and hope that the refs don't call bogus stuff on Joe and Josh early.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY let the "boos" firer you up! boos are respect, boos have to fuel you. you can go in their and think you are the good guys going to fight the bad guys in their lair, or that you are the bad guys who are coming in to take what doesn't belong to you.... but you have to accept the boos and even want Boston to give it to you. Players have to go in their and look at the crowd and remember every person in the last year, or even last nine years, who said that they are not good enough, that they do not belong there, that they are LOSERS. they have to stand on the court and remember everybody who did not believe in them, and that they had to fight, work, and earn people's belief and respect.

I think Boston's bench has been more key in their wins than the starters.

The Big 3 have just met their averages.

But when you have Rondo on fire, Cassell on fire, Powe and company play exceptionally well, we get destroyed.

I'm hoping the pressure of game 7 gets to Doc Rivers and he shortens his bench too much. If the Hawks can stay close and not fall back by double digits for a change, he might not feel secure in using their depth and rather trust the starters + Cassell/Posey/Powe to do the work.

We just need to keep it close in the first half, they are going to probably go on a run initially.
