Has there even been any workouts yet? What could have possibly changed your mind if none of these guys have stepped on the court since your last mock?

edit:

For example, is there any reason you switched Mayo and Lopez?

Why would Miami take Rose over Beasley if they had the chance? They are terrible at PG, but Wade and Rose would be the worst three-point shooting backcourt in the league, and what they need is a secondary scorer moreso than a play-maker.

NJ gotta be happy getting Greene at 21, which I doubt will happen.

Minnesota gotta be happy getting Lawson at the first pick of the 2nd round.

From that mock draft, I'd think Milwaukee and Seattle fans should be pretty happy overall with the draft.

Why does Minnesota take a solid role player over a potential star? They better not pass on Mayo if they're not able to get Beasley/Rose.

What exactly makes Mayo a potential star? His hype far outshines his game. Mayo is a smallish SG who lacks the burst needed to get to the hole and is a streaky three point shooter. All this talk of Mayo walking into the NBA and becoming a star is IMO unfounded. Mayo hay have a higher ceiling than Lopez, but that does not make up for the fact that Lopez is far less likely to bust and he is 7 feet tall.

Not to mention Minny desperately needs a center and has a million combo guards just like Mayo.

Because Rose is the better prospect. And because Miami needs a PG. With Marion and Haslem, Miami is pretty set at the 4.

Minnesota's consensus pick at 3 is Mayo on the Wolves board, I don't think many would be happy with Brook over Mayo.

I agree in that Miami, as bas as they are, is in no position to select based on need.....they should go best player/prospect available and that is Rose no question

Overall, I really like the mock....Sure I would take others higher but my style is all BPA and lacks attention to individual team needs

why is rose the BPA? one could argue beasley is, both bring different dimensions to the game and miami cannot afford to have such a poor shooting backcourt

besides i think beasley is the BPA

You don't draft for need that high. That's how you end up getting Bogut instead of Paul. Mayo is head and shoulders the better player.

Joe Dumars likes to take player with "Pistons DNA' in other words, something that Joey D stresses is toughness, high bball IQ, hardworker and the desire to win; Davon Jefferson is not that guy. He is a great athlete but a dumb bball player and not a fierce competitor. I just dont think that Davon is that guy.

However, I do love that you filled Detroits biggest needs, SF and C. I think that Trent Plaisted at 59 is a steal, I am very high on Plaisted, he is a hardworker, fast and athletic and a good passer. I think he would do very good as a Piston. But I think Plaisted likely returns to BYU for his senior season

- DeAndre Jordan in the top ten? That's going to wind up costing some GM their job.
- No way Kevin Love falls to #14. More like #8.
- Chase Budinger at #15 to the Suns? Not likely. D'Antoni doesn't coach there anymore.
- Donte Greene at #21 is a steal.
- Wayne Ellington is not even close to being a first round pick.
- Davon Jefferson probably won't get guaranteed money either.
- Nikola Pekovic would be a 1st, but he's telling everyone he won't play in the NBA.
- Serge Ibaka is too promising an athlete to fall that far in the 2nd round.
- Richard Hendrix probably already has received a 1st round promise... deservedly.
- Lester Hudson at #44 is probably about right, & that team is going to be so happy.

I think it's a wash between Westbrook and Augustine for the Kings, depends on if the Kings see Westbrook as a PG, because i know i'd love to get his Defense at the position on the Kings

Since when is 6'5" with a solid build 'smallish'?

As for burst, no, he's not Wade or Kobe. But he's a better athlete than plenty of NBA SGs that have had success.

They are certainly close. But, it is my opinion that Rose is the better prospect and also the better fit in Miami.

I completely disagree. The better comparison is LaMarcus aldridge and Randy Foye. Lopez is better than Bogut and Mayo is nowhere near Paul.
