Because:
1. We want to go into the East Finals with momentum, which we definitely wouldn't have after a close win at Cleveland. A 10+ point win in Game 7 would definitely help us.
2. We would've had only 1.5 days rest (as Sunday's game is at 3:30) for Game 1 after a hard Game 6 against Cleveland. We would've definitely felt the consequences of the Cleveland series.
2a. Granted we win, we will have 2.5 days until Game 1.
3. Detroit will have had a full 7 days since their last game. They could definitely come out rusty for Game 1.
...but that's only if we win Game 7.
Our Game 6 loss is a good thing!

I think a win last night would have given us a ton of momentum. It would have shown that we can pull out close games on the road. Do you really feel better carrying the 0-6 road record into the next round?

Of course, now we have to play an extra game before playing Detroit, meaning our players will be even more worn down physically and mentally. It's not just the rigors of an additional 48 minutes of play. It's all the media questions, the self-doubts, etc.
Losing last night was in no way a good thing.
