Yes this slump has come at probably the worst time possible but don't forget some of the things he has done for this team.

He has been an intergral part of a 66 win team. No Ray meant no KG. He is one of the most professional players in the league. And do you think there is any chance in hell Rondo would have adopted some of the shooting practice Ray does if he hadn't been here? Or be going to a veterans house to watch game tape of opponents in between games? I don't.

he makes stupid mistakes, hes a TERRIBLE defender, he blames everyone one the team except himself. i really dont want him on this team and will be THRILLED if hes benched the rest of the playoffs.

man, sam cassell and ray allen make me not want to be a celtic fan anymore. its painful to watch.

This is not even a slump anymore. The guy has been shooting terribly for what 2 moths now? That is no being in a slump that is just being horrible. Every shot he takes he misses. It is unbelievable! Never seen anything like it in my life!

I never expected this kind of play from Ray Allen.

Tony, Tony, Tony!

Start Poz and bring Tony off the bench.

WOW. I agree that Ray Allen has played poorly in the playoffs so far. However, the people on the board are all over Ray Allen for last nights loss and that's not completely fair. Look at what the rest of the big three did last night. Pierce and Garnett both looked horrible all night long yet Allen in the only one getting tourched. Yes, Allen missed two free throws down the stretch when the game was all but over. He also made a "BAD" pass that hit KG right off the hands. I know there was traffic but KG should have caught the ball. Everyone wants Ray Allen to give up the ball when hes not shooting good and then he does and everyone isn't happy about it. I have seen Rhondo make that same pass several times this year for an easy two points. Also, if everyone has watched the way the playoffs go so far it's Rhondo who is the key to us winning or not. Look at the win loss record in the playoffs when Rhondo has 6+ assists and when he has less than six.
Btw Ray Allen isnt a terrible defender. He's going up against the toughest Piston to defend in Rip. Rip gets away with offensive foul after offensive foul all game and runs defenders all over the court.

Someone also said Allen made bad decision after bad decision but only had 2 turnovers in the game. I know this doesnt tell you everything about his decision making but hes not killing the team with turnovers. KG and Pierce actually had more turnovers last night then Allen.

As a team the celtics just played horrible last night but its still only 2-2 and we have the home court advantage.

it's beyond a slump. it's in his head and he needs to see a shrink. we always need his defense was marginal so why doesn't doc give him some help on hamilton. If detroit is going to shoot like that they will be very hard to beat no matter what. I thought their length really got to us last night plus they were very physical. flip saunders was complaining about the calls but they were flat out mugging us on every play in the beginning of thegame and I thought they could have called a lot more. no one on our team played well last night and you do have to question Garnett who passed up open shots to give the ball to Rondo? WTF??? At least Pierce was willing to shoot the ball even though it wouldn't drop for him. Words can't express how disappointed I am in Ray Allen's play. The one "good" game he had in this series we lost. You can see with every miss that his confidence dips further and that at the other end Rip Hamilton is just eating him up. It's hard to win when you can't score. After game 3 I was so sure we would come out strong but instead we mailed it in. Garnett took the collar last night along with Ray Allen. they're not larry bird, mchale or chief. they'r enot even danny ainge or DJ when they play like that
"Now, there's a steal by Bird..!"

How can you say Ray Allen has played close to good defense?

he stands to the side of his man, his man catches the ball, he jogs over and throws a hand up to the man side if Rip/Wally/Joe decides to shoot an open jumper.

If not then even Rip,Wally,Joe just stroll in from the corner and walk to the basket.

That's wanting Big men to play defense for their man and YOU. Ray should man up enough and actually bend his knees. Maybe try and play defense at least once for perhaps a half in one game. See if you get any better results. The coaches shouldn't mind if he gets 2 fouls quickly attempting to play defense. We're not exactly getting any more from him offensively then we are getting from Posey.
